A channel founded by the great Pranay Roy ( I still remember the World this week) stooping down to this level is absolutely unimaginable. The rush for TRP does make idiots/jokers out of sane sensible people it seems. Alternatively, the show should be a hit provided the kind of controversy it is g...enerating over the blogosphere . Even you masakali, is doing your bit in providing publicity to the program. Me thinks we Indians are a voyeuristic bunch basically, and channels simply provide what we needRead More

Hi masakali, A few points :; 1. Do not go for the i10 Automatic , it sucks big time. Refer to this http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian-car-scene/59638-what-fuel-efficiency-i10-automatic.html 2. Your planning for a 2010 model is sound, but you can also get a hefty discount if you buy... a 2009 model in January 2010. Do a cost benefit analysis on the resale value Buying a car is an emotional decision , so follow your heart and go for it. Best, Subhadip PS- Someone commented on your photographs, had a peek. Ahem, I liked what I saw :-) That person might be miffed because he is not photogenic, he he he he And I love your sassy answers to the comments, do keep them coming. Kinda spices up the reviewRead More

Adding a small point to an otherwise excellent review, Durga Puja symbolises the daughter's return to her father's house for a few days along with her kids. This strikes a chord in the hearts of all Bengali women and kind of humanises the goddess. We think of Durga as the daughter of any family who ...has returned for just a few daysRead More

Hi Aviseq, Came across and was pleasantly surprised by the change in your review. It seems that you have come in terms with your Vista and at least found some points to be happy. Let me assure you that the mileage will increase as the car engine becomes more easier after the initial run in period..... At least 1000(manufacturer specified)-2500( my guess) kms are necessary before you see the full colours of a petrol engine. My previous Indica XETA came to full potential in terms of fuel efficiency only after 2500 kms. Your initial fuel efficiency figures are correct/expected. Relax, it would improve with time. A few pieces of advice from my own experience based on the fundas collected over the net. This works true for any vehicle, any fuel , petrol or diesel. i have made it into a separate post due to it's size. would like you to visit any post comments / suggestions /criticisms. http://www.mouthshut.com/review/Tata_Indica_Vista_Quadrajet-176406-1.html Read More

Hi Aviseq, Sorry if you found my comments offensive, peace man. I have a few questions for you 1.I think the extended warranty is available at the same price only for the first month and gradually increases as time progresses. Kindly check this with your dealer 2. Whatever problems you are facin...g at dealer level workshop, report the whole thing to TATAMOTORS directly through their website 3. Have you done your servicing at the LEXUS workshop at TARATALA or at any other workshop? 4.Regarding the wheel hotting up, check the brake calipers and the whole brake unit. Also, does one wheel get more heated than the others or all the wheels are getting heated up uniformly? 5. What was the charges for cavity waxing and teflon coating? rgdsRead More

And ground clearance is in MM, not CM 9. 'Besides you will feel the lack of power from the engine, when trying to accelerate after a slowdown to avoid potholes or rickshaws with the full A/C on.' - Any car with a 1200cc engine or below will have this problem. So you need to buy a 1500cc plus sedan ...for this. The correct technique in a hatch would be to switch off the AC, downshift gears to gain acceleration, and then switch on AC . Thumb rule would be to switch on AC only on 3rd gear ( this will give you performance as well as fuel efficiency), switch off AC when going uphill, switch off when in a traffic snarl or when trying to move forward in 1st gear or from standstill in 2nd gear. My two cents would be that the problems are much more in your mind as you were accustomed in driving an OMNi ( a great car in terms of fuel efficiency, but with zero ride comfort or safety, STRICTLY MY OPINION). Now shift to a hatch will have to be matched by a change in driving habits my friend. And from a strictly personal point of view, your decision for buying seems to be very poorly researched. Research some more after that you have bought regarding driving habits and other issues and you will be better off. I am planning to buy a VISTA AURA QUADRAJET very soon after being extremely satisfied with an INDICA XETA for the last two years. So obviously my comments have been a bit colored by my satisfying experience. Read More

Looks like the dealer handed a lemon to you. You should not have taken delivery of the car with the scratch on the bonnet. Get in touch with TATAMOTORS customer service through their website, that is supposed to solve a lot of problems ( based on user reviews). I am driving a INDICA XETA for the l...ast 2 years without any major problems and bought it from LEXUS only. Now for some questions on your review :: 1. How are you calculating mileage figures? 9 drove only 400km and you have an idea about the mileage, huh??) 2. What is your style of driving? 3. If the mileage goes up to 10-12, that will be enough on a petrol hatch. You should have been aware about this before you bought the car 4.'When running the car above 40 KM/Hr, the front wheels are getting heated up and smell of burning rubber is coming out' - Probably the brake calipers are tight in a new car, get it rectified thru the dealer 5.'The build quality of the mirrors, bumpers and mud flaps are extremely flimsy' Did you not check these points when you were taking test drives and checking out other hatches? 6. 'The turning radius of the car is 5 meters compared to others which have 4 meters'- Turning radius for VISTA is 4.9m, SWIFT is 4.7m, FIAT GRANDE PUNTO is 5.4m, Maruti RITZ is 4.7m, Chevrolet U-VA is 4.95 m, Indica XETA is 4.9m, and turning radius for Maruti Alto is 4.6m. that takes care of all the hatches I presume. I will not get into the wheelbase sizes of the respective cars or how it affects the turning radius, and how larger wheelbase provides better stability, lesser body roll , better riding comfort etc as your research ( in any) seems to have skipped these things 7. 'I just sat down in the car and closed the door when I saw the mirror falling off into the footpath.' - You have a car warranty, right ? 8.'Ground clearance is not that great (165 cm)' - VISTA 165mm, Swft170mm, 170, Punto 165, Getz 160, Hyundai i20- 165mm, OMNI ( yours) - 165mm, ALto- 165mm Read More

I am planning to buy a Swift VDi and after initial research on the car I am now at the phase of evaluating dealers/distributors. Dewar's is the closest to my office hence they had a chance. Thanks to your review I am not going there. Don't be sad about the 2000 you lost to those cheaters, they will... lose much more in the way of losing probable customers like me.
