I personally am a great fan of Metallica and have all their albums. I think St. Anger was a brilliant album. Anyone who says it isn't a great album does'nt know Metallica and the troubled times they went through. I think St. Anger is a great tribute to those times which they conquered as a band. The... passion and pain is unreal. If you really wanna understand what Metallica went through before this album, watch the DVD set called 'Some kind of Monster'Read More

I have'nt seen Dostana yet, as I'm not really into hindi movies, but I had heard it's a fun movie. Your review was well written, and has made me want to watch the flick. Thanks for that.

I've been a Metallica fan since well over 15 years now, and love all their albums till date. I've found a lot of people crticizing Metallica for the way St. Anger turned out as they thought it was'nt "pure" Metallica. Well for 1, I disagree. I think this is "pure" Metallica.
This does'nt mean...Read more

I saw Hancock on DVD, and thought it to be a good flick. Agreed, it was'nt a very powerful storyline, but once in a while I actually like to watch movies that are pure action and humour without a real reason. Afterall, I believe all men are children on the inside, and this movie is made to appea...Read more

The Pleasures of Reading
Feb 05, 2009 12:38 AM
A beautiful posting by Shalu. I did'nt realise you are such a devoted reader. I myself love reading books, and almost all the authors you mentioned in your post are the same that I grew up with. I started with Enid Blyton, went on to the Hardy boys, theh on to James Hadley Chase and Sidney Sheldon i...n my teens. Wodehouse was one of my favourites in school. The I read Kane & Able one day, and after that, no author has been able to compare to Jeffrey Archer where fiction is concerned. But I must say, my favourite book of all time is Mario Puzo's Godfather. Although I'm not a Puzo fan (Actually I don't like his other books that much), I must say, Godfather was sensational.
A lot of people have commented on e0reading on the net. I actually like reading on the net quite a bit, but only articles or posts or research material. An e-book can never replace a proper book in a million years. You can't read more than 20-30 pages of an e-book at a time, but give me a novel, and I'll finish it in a day or 2 at the max.
It's wonderful to see so many people in these days passionate about reading. I thought in these days of the net, books were beginning to get obsolete.
Cheers!!!Read More

I bought the 5800 in Dec 2008 in Dubai for AED 1550/- and overall, I believe it to be good value for money. It definitely features a lot more functions than the iphone, and various applications are better to use as well. Youtube videos are unrestricted on the 5800 whereas on the iphone, only app...Read more
