The title probably explains the feeling I had when I was done with the album. I love Metallica and all the work that I had heard up until this point made me believe that they would never put a foot down.
Even now I cannot bring myself to think that Metallica produced this. Not a single Guitar Solo. Not a single Instru-metal piece. Not one slower number (in the ''Nothing else matters'' or ''Mama said'' vein). No Jason Newstead.
Man it was a disappointment for me. I cannot however completely write them off. They are Metallica for crying out loud. The epic songs like ''One'', ''The four horsemen'', ''Victory coming'' Symphony and Metallica...How heroes have fallen...
All is not lost though. St. Anger has its moments with the title track and Unnamed feeling (my personal favourite)
May common sense prevail and metallica return to the Master of puppets mould.
