Thanks guys. U're too kind as usual :). I had a pretty bad cold when I wrote the review, so I guess I might have sneezed some other deserving songs off my list :(!

Saving occupants was one of my fav songs as a kid!! Then my brother ruined the tape - he kept playing 'Mr Postman' over and over again :(. Great work on the list man!!!

Well, hehe, I do play a bit of guitar, and as a result try to'sing' along, but I'm pretty sure I end up sounding like a toad with a sore throat. But, just in case, if The Lord God were to cause a shift in the universe and leave me with Ed Kowalczyk's vocal abilities, these would be the songs I w...Read more

I don't know about you guys, but Hollywood is definitely one of the greatest gifts from the West :). I was never a movie freak, but I do watch them pretty regularly. It gives you a window into the mind of the movie maker - and can often be an interesting view. Heck, what am I doing, better get s...Read more

For some reason, I really don't know why, I have a mental block against these two when I'm enjoying sobreity (by that I mean, when Im my usual self ;)). Not that I don't enjoy their music, I guess I haven't felt that mood yet - that would allow me to really appreciate them.

Yeah, Led Zep is first, considering everything - but I haven't ranked the list in any order :). And of course, I obviously left so many out - here are some more: The Cranberries, Oasis, Ac Dc, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Greenday, hehe, could go on forever as you all know

Thanks for your reviews guys. The books are definitely worth reading :). And yeah, I have read the Sherlock Holmes mysteries - but that was quite some time ago - The hound of baskervilles is still a favourite :)

Great review dude, couldn't have done it better myself. And yeah, 8000 words can make a music reviewer claustrophobic :)

20. THE SCORPIONS: Again, pioneers these dudes!! Started off as early as 1964 and they’re still continuing today – although it involved a long list of breakups, reformations, line up changes, and so on and so forth. Their album with Berliner Philharmoniker – Moment of Glory is a mu...st listen. Personal Favs: Winds of change, Hurricane 2000, Lady Starlight, Send me an Angel, Big City Nights, White Dove, Bad Boys Running Wild… Woosha!! That was a really long review!! There are so many others which I would love to have included : Dream Theater, The Beatles, INXS, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Eagles, The Grateful Dead, Deep Purple, The Police, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Megadeth, The Doors, Credence Clearwater Revival,.... I know I haven't done justice to them, I doubt anyone can. So I hope I don't get damned to hell ;). !!!!!!!! PEACE !!!!!!!!! And I swear I shall never write such a long review, ever again :) Read More

17. HOOTIE AND THE BLOWFISH: What a voice!!!! These guys can beat most bands hands down when it comes to emulating passion vocally!! Not recommended when you’re feeling blue!!! Perfect for a long nighttime drive with that special someone ;). Personal Favs: Old man and me, I hope that I don...217;t fall in love with you(cover), Hold my hand, Let her cry… 18. SIMON AND GARFUNKEL: One of the best duos in music history, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel have created some really memorable pop-rock-folkish music. Although Paul was supposedly the main talent, quite a bit of their magic was lost after the breakup. Paul Simon has come up with quite a few tracks however, while Garfunkel’s career seems to be pretty low key. Personal Favs: The entire ‘Graduate Soundtrack’. 19. AEROSMITH: ‘Dude looks like a lady’ was written for the Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil. These guys don’t give a damn about nothing!!! Rebuffed early in his career as just a Mick Jagger lookalike, Steven Tyler and Aerosmith are now a pretty formidable force to reckon with. Personal Favs: Dude looks like a lady, Rag Doll, Fallin in love is so hard on the knees, Jaded, Angel, Dream On, Janie’s got a gun, Hoodoo Voodoo Medicine Man… Read More

14. BLACK SABBATH: The fathers of metal, literally!! They recorded their tracks when studio equipment wasn’t as high tech as it is today, so a lot of their original tracks don’t have the same clarity as today’s music. Traces of Sabbath can be found in every metal band that exists o...r has existed after their time. Ozzy Osbourne’s vocals and antics were mind-bending to say in the least, when he was in his prime. Decades of drug abuse have pretty much fried a lot of his brain, but the daddy of metal still rocks all the way!!!!!!! Personal Favs: War Pigs, Anno Mundi, Sweat Leaf, Snowblind, Headless Cross, Iron Man, Orchid, Sabbra Cadabra, Supernaut… 15. THE WHO: Again, one of the pioneers of rock. Pete Townshend’s reverberating leads sent me scurrying to collect their albums, when I first heard Baba O’Reilly! I am still in the process of listening to all their numbers, but all the tracks I’ve managed to listen to were enough to include them in this list, hehe. Personal Favs: My Generation, Baba O’Reilly, Behind Blue Eyes, Eminence Force, Mary Anne with the Shaky hands… 16. U2: U2’s tracks have been an inspiration to me for a long time. Hope I don’t get murdered for including them here, but hey!! They really are awesome!! Pop was a horrible album and their track Vertigo from their new album is kinda irritating, but I’m willing to forgive them for that ;). Their songs have a weird characteristic of growing on a listener. The Edge is a genius with the pedal. And looks like Bono is on his way to a Nobel Prize!! ;) !! Personal Favs: With or without you, Electrical Storm, Still haven’t found what I’m looking for, Beautiful Day, Where the streets have no name, In the name of love, Mysterious Ways, Red Hill mining town,...Read More

11. QUEEN: One of the Gods of 70’s rock, Freddie Mercury’s searing voice cuts through the air and can rip your lungs to shreds ;)!! Literally anthem machines, their tracks were mostly desecrated by critics, but excitedly devoured by fans. Mercury’s struggle with his bisexuality cam...e through in a large number of their most popular songs, but the veil was lifted only after his death. A great loss to rock n’roll. Personal Favs: Bohemian Rhapsody, I want to break free, Radio Gaga, Another one bites the dust, Under Pressure, We will rock you… 12. REM: If music were a beautiful woman, then REM would be her creator!! Soothing numbers, they are perfect when you’ve just returned after a tiring day. Or when you’re stuck with your girl indoors and its pouring outside – REM should do the rest ;)!! Personal Favs: Nightswimming, Losing my religion, Man on the Moon, The Great Beyond, It’s the end of the world as we know it, Orange Crush, Stand, The One I Love… 13. DIRE STRAITS: You just know its Dire Straits when you listen to one of their numbers playing - characteristic clean guitaring. Although they do not many albums to their credit, Sultans of Swing is a must learn on every budding guitarist’s list. Nobody writes lyrics like Knopfler!!! Personal Favs: Money for nothing, Brothers in Arms, Sultans of Swing, Lady Writer, Romeo and Juliet, So far away, Tunnel of Love,… Sorry guys, but I am not going to stop at 13, hehe Read More
