I think one of the problems with writing book reviews is that one does not want to reveal the plot too much yet what else can one possibly write abt then? lol...neway, I guess u do not really recommend the book. Kewl review. Regards. Jaded

I seem to have stirred up a hornet's nest, so I guess my review has served its purpose of initiating a discussion. :o) U say that u will not be bothered if a woman who dresses provocatively and so on is raped. Well...that is ur opinion but I will diasgree with it. Regardless of what a woman d...oes or wear, I've serious doubts that she is giving an open invitation to be raped. Plus, even a prostitute has the right to say 'no' and just because she sleeps with men for money does not give men the right to 'buy' her even when she is not 'selling'. So, regardless of what u say about the 'character' of a woman, in my opinion no woman 'deserves' to be raped and any man who molests her ( i don't care what silly excuses he comes up with) should be severely punished. As for 'given the right bait' ...haha...I think u have a serious problem with being 'loyal'. I personally think multiple affairs are acceptable only if both the partners agree to an 'open relationship' and r honest about it. But even then I think it usually never works out as it is human nature to be 'jealous' and 'posessive'. Plus, it really depends on what that other person means to u. Anyway, this is one's personal choice. Btw, It is not merely men who have sexual desires. I think most of the time, we tend to forget that women too have wants and needs. So, when people argue that men cannot control their urges and are easily seduced, i find it downright stupid. Neway, hopefully I gave an apt reply though I am not sure excatly what the question was. :oP Peace. Read More

Heya, When I spoke of 'education' i didn't mean the kind in school which is usually limited to Maths and science. What I meant was inculcating in the young minds a need to raise their voice against social injustice. If u meant whether I teach children or 'do' anything to improve thing...s besides 'talking'. Well i do not, but even then I feel it is a start. The problem is that most people r not even 'willing to talk'. The least one can do is talk about it and make it an important issue. I mean forget children even adults completely refuse to acknowledge gender bias as a problem. So, I think the least one can do is discuss it with friends and family. And if you are asking about my contribution to all this...well.. for starters I live life on my terms and try not to play the role of a weak woman that is expected of me by the society. Plus, what am studying would ensure a career for me where I'd get a chance to voice my opinion and reach out to many so.... ask me this question sometime later and I might have a response that would satisfy u. :o) Thanx for commenting. peace Read More

Hey, First for the list 'Highest rape cases', one cannot really go by this cuz in countries like India most people do not report a rape case. 1. India is NOt the most unsafe place for women but there are some other countries which are relatively more safe. 2. It isn't about criticizing on...e's country but rather trying to improve the condition of life for many. It is irrelevant really whether a woman suffering is an Indian or from other country. But as they say 'charity begins at home' so y not improve things in India first. 3. As for taking precautions, it is a good idea but then if women continue to walk around with knives and pepper sprays and do not go out late at nite and even dress a certain way, then how would u bring the change. These are superficial measures and Not the solution. 4. As for 'Education', it can help. In the sense, that gender issues could be discussed out in the open without men getting defensive and children (both boys and girls) could be taught about the importance of a just and fair society. Thanks for commenting. :o) peaceRead More

Haha... U r no prude..that's for sure. U said guys r falsely accused of harassing or assaulting a girl and are punished without committing a crime. Well....for instance, in a secular country like ours, it is necessary to ensure that the ‘minority’ and the ‘backward classes&...#8217; feel safe similarly it is necessary to empower women through various means. I am not saying that men are never the victim, just as you can not say that Hindus (majority) never suffer. It is just that there is safety in number, which the majority enjoys. All I am saying is that there is more number of women suffering. The problem is the way our society has evolved where most of the power, in the public as well as private space lies with the Man. Moreover, remember that women in the cities are at least educated and know their rights. The situation is horrible in the rural areas, where women and especially those belonging to the lower castes not only have no access to proper healthcare but are also often exploited mentally as well as physically. As for men not caring about being raped. I am sure there are many men who would not be willing to sacrifice their relationship with their loved one for a mere roll in the hay. And plus, “rape” is Not just “violent sex”. It can be compared to someone trying to enslave you and force you to do something you do not want to. It is used as a device to degrade someone and make them feel that they have no worth. And by the way there have been many instances, where men have filed cases against women who tried to sexually harass them or force them to sleep with them. As for “enjoying the best of both worlds”, I think it depends on what your priorities are. It is one thing to be single and sowing wild oats and a different thing to be hitched and deceive someone you love. Peace :o) Read More

Hey, I think this is one of the most annoying ads I've ever seen. Though I personally do not know zilch about buying and selling companies and all that stuff yet I think the ad is really dumb. It seems to promote senseless chavinism and displays such lack of creativity on the part of the a...dmakers. Good review. peaceRead More

But u see, Men don't pay the price of 'eve-teasing' by getting raped so y should a woman suffer such consequences even if she does 'insult or taunt the guy'. And really 'let the girl get whats coming to her'?I think that's way insulting...but then it is your point of view & u r free to express ur op...inion. Thanks for commenting. peaceRead More
