I have also faced similar situation. I transferred about 45k INR from my Axis bank account to Citibank account. The amount has been debited fro Axis bank account but not credited to my Citi account.
Axis bank sucks big time.

I have the same experience with Axis bank. Their phone banking number is total waste.
The automated voice asks you dial 1 to 5, and even when you dial you get the response ''Sorry, there was no input from you. You have exceeded maximum number of attempts. Thank you'' and disconnects.
What is the... point in banking with Axis bank if I cannot even reach the customer service to get answer to my problem?
I have transferred some amount from my Axis bank account to an account in another bank, and the amount is deducted in Axis bank, but not credited in the other. I would like to enquire about this with the customer care, which unfortunately I cannot do due to the above mentioned problem.
I have invested more than a million INR with Axis Bank. I'm planning to close the Axis Bank account and move all the amount to either ICICI or HDFC Bank.Read More

Even I own a Star 3G and face exactly the same problems that you faced. Will post a review soon when time permits.
