I own a P900, bought in 2004 in the UK. Overall, it's a nice phone, and doubles up as a PDA (partly) as well. I added a 64 MB sony memory card (duo) to it (about Rs. 2000 then) for more memory storage. The display is a clear and bright LCD screen, that is very visible even on a sunny day. The...Read more

Good article. I must say though that in the last year ULIP returns have been disappointing in comparison with mutual funds! Also how do you know how many units you have? Do you get a monthly notice? I know they reduce mortality charges, fund management charges etc. directly from your units so eve...ry month the number of units you own changes. I'd suggest a term plan (pure risk plans) plus ELSS from mutual funds instead...Read More

I was recently evaluating Unit Linked Insurance Plans(ULIPs) - the idea here is that you put in your money and it'grows' with time. So you also have life cover(i.e. your family gets money if you die) and money also grows at the same time. You get'units' like in mutual funds, and the value of the...Read more

“The World is Flat” says Tom Friedman, three-time Pulitzer prize winner. Pretty apt for a book by a New York Times Columnist who was born in Minneapolis, studied in Oxford, and worked in Beirut and Jerusalem, and who got the title from a statement made by a CEO in Bangalore. In an in...Read more

I read Five Point Someone a while back. I'm an RECian myself, and it was very surprising to see the similarities and differences between life at KREC and IIT Delhi. I picked this book up a few days back at the Strand Book Stall, Bangalore, on the advise of a friend who'd been to the reading at the Leela.
