Hey Nik It's the best comic strip ever... even better than Dilbert, which is saying a lot. No, it's not for kids... though the central character is a 6 year old kid and his tiger, it's most enjoyed by grown - ups. Read just one of their books... anyone... bet u anything u wud be a convert b...y the time u are on to page 20. Cheers StutiRead More

Just read that space u recommended... brilliant read. Yet another one which cracks me up every time i read is where calvin compares girls with bugs... it should offend, but it's hilarious! Calvin : Do you hate being a girl? Susie: It;s gotta be better than the alternative Calvin: What's it l...ike? Is it like being a bug? Susie : Like a what???!!! Calvin: I imagine bugs and girls have a dim perception that nature played a cruel trick on them, but they lack the intelligence to really comprehend the magnitude of it Calvin again (after being socked by Susie) : I must've put my finger on it Hahahhhhhhhhhhhaaheheh hehe Read More

There's simply no doubt about it - C&H has a CULT following, spanning age, geography and factions.... and those who read the comic swear by it with a fanatical fervour. All for good reason. Where else would one find the perfect blend of satire, humour, innocence and profundity... it's like...Read more

Hi Nik, you have a great list of movies lined up there, and you have a brilliant way of describing them. Bravo!! However, these are some usual suspects, even if some may not have been blockbusters. I mean, most film critics name most of these movies in their favorites I was extremely happ...y to see Paheli in your list, very good movie, especially in current cinema... and most critics do not put it in greatest hindi films category, though it should be I wud have given Angoor also a five... also see naya din nayee raat, if u are a sanjeev kapoor fan Do see Zubeidaa, Mammo, Sardari Begum, Umrao Jaan... I think you wouldn't have watched these these movies, because they simply cud not be missing in this list !! Esp Zubeidaa. Also koshish, khamoshi (old , with Waheeda rahman), Mughal-e-Aazam, Sahib Bibi aur ghulam, and kagaz ke phool Fantastic work done! Very Very good indeed.. More power to you, tc stuti.Read More

Yes, your review was nice, etc etc But what i LOVED was that u seem to be a hater of the 'See - i - am - acting' squad, which includes everybody claiming to be a good actor(ess). I think SLB make Rani a walking joke in Black... Kajol here is , on the other hand, so dignified as a blind, normal... and all that... and that's the way they are supposed to be. Anyway, i liked your review a lot... very honest, and that's what I am a sucker of! Keep it up! Stuti P.S. I didn't like the kid, he looked like a girl... sorry! am sure ur boy wud be better. P.S. (2) Kajol cannot dance!!! Hey, come on - she is good.Read More

I hate to think I cud have anything common with u, even if it's just a thot, for u epitomise what i despise in people - hypocrisy, lies and an inherent desire to seem 'different' - oh so common nowadays, atleast in the corporate world where i am doomed to stay. But, i did not like Black. I ta...ke solace in the fact that my reasons are not the same as yours. I don't mind the english name (I loved Guide, Paying guest, and so many other 'firang' sounding movies)... I dont mind engrazi dialogues (HKAisee was good cinema)... and i definitely do not mind lack of songs (NO movie can EVER beat JAANE BHI DO YAARON, which was songless) But what I do mind is SLB's fascination with making things larger than life... for making such a dishonest movie and making all attempts to appear nonchalant about it... for treating the handicapped in such derogatory manner, for making a mockery out of them... Rani spraddles in the entire movie, and people want to laugh at her, but no... if they laugh, they'd be termed boorish and insensitive, so they keep it in... that is still not so bad, but what is worse is that they start BELIEVING that they are sympathising with the girl... One has to see Sparsh, or Iqbal to see how to treat the handicapped with dignity, how to attempt to make them a part of society, and not demean them by giving them special treatment And then again, SKB was so obviously pitching for an Oscar that it was both amusing and irritating... the cinematography, the poems written all over the walls, the soundtrack ... everything was so blatant that the charm, if there was any charm at all, was lost Black cud have been a good movie in the hands of some good director - i pitch for Nagesh Kukunoor. Even priyadarshan.Read More

So glad to have some fellow viewers - I thot me and hubby were just about the only people who had watched this movie... at any rate, on the first sunday after its release, we were the only ones sitting in the hall, if i dont count the two 'corner seat' lovebirds. And was very disappointed to see ...no review for a movie so powerful and so ALIVE Since then I am a sonali convert. And i literally couldnt stop shaking when she beats the guy up upon his saying sorry... she is brilliant... and not only does she get into the skin of her character, which many actresses can do, she make YOU get into the skin of the character. Dansh was brilliant. And so was ur review :) StutiRead More

Attagirl, thank Goodness for some SRK haters, his smile is a pain in the $%&^%T ... i liked him initially though, and in the more recent Paheli as well And NO dear, I never meant to imply that commercially successful movies are crap... HEY, I drool on Hera Pheri, Dil Chahta hai, Sholay and so m...any more, which rocked box office, .... but in Hum Tum, the chemistry b/w saif and rani put me off, more because i like that babe... anyway, Keep writing, TC Stuti.
