Hi Vivek, First of all, do not press the accelerator when you switch on the engine. Allow the engine to warm up (say 1 minute) before pressing the pedal. Also try taking your car on a long drive (say atleast 150 kms. oneway) in a decent highway. Keep your speed below 90 kmph. Once the drive is... completed, you will have noticeable reduction in the overall cabin noise. It worked for me. In fact, I have a problem wherein whenever I drive at 35-45 kmph. in fourth gear (in City) with AC on, I hear a subdued vibrating noise inside my cabin. My service guys (ABT-Chennai) say they need to look into the gear box for any ball-bearings wear and tear. I am planning to get a second opinion from another authorised service station. What Bullpsi says is absolutely true as I too experienced the same at Khivraj. This is when they have multiple dealers for Maruti in Chennai..!!! My suggestion to anyone buying vehicles is this: NEVER go in for a vehicle which is having only one dealer in your city. Examples are Toyota and FIA...T. Am also fixed with the same type of goat (aka horn) I presume. Though the engine is smooth and NVH levels are very, when driving, I have one irritating problem with my Dio. The floor rattles like hell when the vehicles starts moving from a stop. Rattling settles down when the speed reaches above ...say 20 kmph. But the rattling is more in tune with the engine speed rather than the vehicle speed. Any suggestion to this from the folks owning Dio...Read More
