I'm a Yezdi lover myself and own a '85 CLII. Even after 22yrs and more than a lakh and a half k's on the clock, she still runs like a dream and still gives me about 32kmpl (engine work due). About a year back she used to give me about 37-38 on the highway (speeds of about 70-80, constant and steady... rpm). Given the throttle, she gives me about 18-20kmpl (speeds maintained at about 100 on the highway and about 60 on the ghats - uphill)....not bad for a 22 yr old bike with a design which dates back to the WWII.
Keep up the good work with your bike and keep riding the FOREVER BIKERead More

My mother has had one for about 8 yrs now. It's done about 55,000 kms altogether. Inspite all this, with just the normal maintenence, we've getting an easy 55 - 60 kmpl in the hills and about 70 - 75 on the highway with easy riding. I have personally taken her up to about 75 kmph which is good f...or a vehicle of this size. Lights are good (our bike does not have indicators - they were introduced later). The horn is ok too. Comfort is good for the shorter people. I have to sit on the rearmost part of the seat coz of 6 foot frame - the stepped seat can be a pain in the rear at times! All in all, a good value bike, good reliabilty as with all TVS vehicles, average comfort, good engine, mileage and power. Go for it if you want value for money as well as reliablity.Read More

Well, first I feel good to know that all my hours of researching the Jawa online did not go to waste! And it feels even greater that there are still so many Yezdi/ Jawa fans out there.
I do agree that the Yezdi can sometimes be a pain in the back (pun not intended). You just have to know how t...o arouse her, make her beg for it and then pump her to life (again pun not intended!). Anyhow many a guy would sure appreciate that handling a Yezdi would have made him remain in shape with all the kicking!
I'm sure that all those who can get their hands on Yezdis and are man enough, will continue to ride the 'forever bike' (the company's words, not mine). My own '85 Yezdi CL II has clocked a little more than a lakh and a half k's on the odo with no major engine job and only now is stressing out. Have planned a major overhaul to ensure she keeps running - I want to take my grandchildren for a ride on her. Oh, by the way, unmarried and have no kids as yet!Read More

Hey people! This is Part II of Reliabilty Personified (those of you haven't read it can do so). Continuing about this bike, she's just completed about one and a quarter lakh k's on the odo and soon will be turning 22 years.
