I was wondering most of the time, why to give review on a product that is not in market and can’t be bought easily?

Then found the following answers

“Just to share the experience”

“To know about history”

“How trend changes?”

“Will History repeat?:-)”

Here is some contributation from my side about this late legend YEZDI RODAKING.

History of my Bike

It was June 2000(second year Engineering); I was literally fighting with my mom to get me a bike. After lot of discussions, my parents promised me to get a bike on my birthday(Later after 4 years, I bought a Royal Enfield TB for my birthday)

As a college student I thought it was not good to invest 30K in buying a new bike so searched for a used one. Finally I decided to buy a YEZDI Roadking maintained by my uncle’s friend. After a small bargain, the deal was done for 16K(Looks high right?). Since then the bike has become a part of me. Emotionally bonded(My first Love). Still now It’s maintained in good condition. I don’t take it out often but still this is my favorite bike. Too many emotions and incidents around it that makes me mad when any third person touches it.

*Actual Review

*Positives

1.)    Performance(Speed and pickup): Fair pickup but good speed. I have riding this bike for 6 years but still have not dared to give full acceleration. There is no saturation point for acceleration. Just with a minimal twist, the bike reached 80 kmph easily.(Optimal speed for this bike). Good road grip

2.)    Comfort: Good for single riding along with a traveling bag. That’s it; you can go any where at any time. One more good point about YRG is the automatic clutch. You can ride this bike without clutch cablesJ. Just change the gears and fly while your hands are in air

3.)    Looks: Perfect classic look. No plastics nor fibers(Since those days only steel was used) One of my friend use to comment it as BIG ANT J

4.)    Mileage: Mine is a CDI version so gives more than 35 kmpl with normal driving(Around 50 kmph)

5.)    Maintenance: Absolutely no if you want the bike to just run. If you want to keep it in good shape then proper replacements of brake shoes, lubrication and waxing is a must. Now days it’s getting hard to find proper spares, so should be careful in riding it.(Just a small precaution)

Drawbacks

1.)    Performance(Braking): Very poor braking. The official YEZDI website informs the braking distance as 9 meters at 40 Kmph, guess the braking distance at 80 kmph? Any experiences YEZDI rider will use engine braking(Gears) more than wheel braking. There is noting to worry about engine braking because the gears withstand any pressure(Very reliable)

2.)    Comfort: The seat is very small and not good for two people(That too of my size its impossible)

3.)    Looks: Full of iron and steel. Good care against rust is required. The painting job is really good. Still looks good.

4.)    Mileage: If you want to play with this guy than you have to spent liters of fuel because this DRINKs at high rpms. I have made up to 100 kmph and got an average mileage of 15 kmpl:-)

Conclusion

May things come and go in our life but it’s our responsibility to maintain certain things that we love a lot. My dream is to ride this bike when I am at my 50s or 60s. This bike was and will be with me to share my feelings. When no one was there to talk to me, I used to go for a ride in this. Still now this practice continues. Just have a ride on this bike; I regain my confidence and joy I used to have in my college days.

For me bikes are not just a form of transportation but are like life partners where we depend on them, trust them and cant live without them
