Dont go by this comment, see for yourself. We were married for 8 years without a kid. We had tried the following hospitals,
1. Our own gync-known doctor.
2. Billroth Chennai
3. Apollo Chennai
When we went to Prashant a complete reexamination was done by a doctor with tests and a Laproscopy advi...sed. The lap showed non-patent tube. We were advised one cycle of IUI and if not successful we had to go for IVF(ICSI) but we said we would rather take IVF since we already had multiple failure of IUI.
The total cost advised was about 1.25 lakhs for IVF excluding the lap and delivery and also the medicines.
The actual amount stayed exactly within this limits no deviation. We had to pay extra on meds, which are not bounded by the hospital one injection that was advised is Rs 420 per dose and we need it for 32 weeks (ie 32x7x420) but need not get it from hospital so we can go for any bargain. We have to pay for the nurse for the injection daily etc so adding all this we had to pay about 10 Lakhs includes mid-term hospitailzation for PV Bleeding etc.
These were not advised by the hospital, so we cant say they fleeced any amount.
There diagnosis, care, treatment is the best and we came out with a beautiful baby boy after 8 years. And it is due to the wonderful care of Prashanth staff which is very friendly and Doctor Geetha Haripriya.
I write as a reply so ppl are not scared of the hosp or the Doc.
I even know a lady who went to treatment with my wife had two failed IUIs and 1 failed IVF before Prashanth and She had one more failure in Prashanth. But Eventually she has a successful pregnancy. AGPS is nothing but GPRS ie IP on GSM so it will be charged at your browsing rates depending on how much data is transfered and according to your provider.
The Maps and navigation would cost you in addition. Nokia OVI which our friend Modibimal has commented would cost you nearly Rs 1200/...Month (When I last checked)
Also check if your city is covered, I had a problem finding pondicherry on Nokia OVI(considering the cost atleast they should have covered all indian cities).
My advice is get maps from Sygic which mapmyindia sells for 2400/- but there is a catch it wont be updated, you have to get the entire software again if you want to get an updated version of the maps... that sucks !!!Read More

GPS does/shud not use GPRS. It should be able to calculate directly from satellite/s, Pls check your definitions before saying AGPS is GPS, GPS is especially for areas you dont have a signal and want to find out your location not when you have a fundu GPRS connection to check your mail... :-) .
My bluetooth GPS gets a lock from the same location that the 5800 does not get a lock on... ;-)
5800 may be the best music fone by nokia,
but not as good as compared to a Sony/IPhone dats what i said and dats the truth.

Sanjay bhai, these have to be dark clouds for you to lose reception not 'generally' cloudy weather also make sure that there are no high rises on blocking line of sight towards south-east of your apartment for home for dishTV as it points south east.

Thanx kuppakaran, the sad part is i pushed for the DTH(DTH probably meant direct to hospital, who knew then???) solution, i thought i could get rid of the middleman(cable wala) and it would be more like a mobile phone(pay bill n get da service), but who thought we could be in a worse situation. Dear Sandhya sorry to learn of your experience, but I do want to make a recomendation to everyone on this list. Pls dont recommend/send/ask somebody to go for a back surgery or spine surgery or whatever is the techinical name. I have not known anybody who has recovered and have been well (nothing to... do with the hosipital or doc only the treatment is not matured yet)remember Christopher Reeves(Superman) spent a lot of money and started a trust just for spine treatments but still could not even feel. Pls do not go for a spine procedure unless absolutely necessary.Read More

Be advised never ever send/recommend anybody for a spine operation unless its absolutely necessary. They would probably end up not walking at all. I dont have anything specific to Apollo or other hosipitals but the treatment itself is not matured - remember Christopher Reeves(Superman) spent a lot o...f money and started a trust but it never worked. I have known many ppl who are taken in by the way the docs describe the treatment but never recover. I feel sorry for Sandhya and her father. But again everyone here kindly DO NOT go for spinal surgery or back operation or whatever is the techinical term unless you feel that not walking and lying in bed for ever would be better than your present condition.
