Zen Estilo's advantages over Wagon-R 1. Stylish (depends on individual) 2. Better Mileage (1 or 2 km per litre) 3. Cheaper (slightly) 4. Better design for lesser air resistance (WagonR being boxy blocks air flow) 5. Excellent interiors 6. Body colored mirror and door handles 7. Antennae for F...M reception 8. Rear Power Windows 9. Keyless entry 10. 4 Speaker ProvisionRead More

Dinzaach82, Estilo does have that problem at speeds above 80Kms (My brother-in-law who drove my car reported it). I am not sure about other cars, but is it not dangerous to try and turn any car at speeds in excess of 80Kms. Vijajthj, Not really. I got Vxi in Bangalore for 4.23 Lakhs exactly with ...a lot of freebies and 3rd and 4th year extended warrantyRead More

We have taken our Estilo up to Coorg and all the way to Tala Cauvery. No heating issues. So it might not be a generic problem and something to do with your car in particular. Demand for proper reason from Bimal and tell him that within 5 kms no car heats up.

Maintenance - Estilo (very slight advantage over Santro being a maruti, but Santro has also proven good in this department - not much to choose between the two) Mileage - Estilo (1 km more than Santro for sure) Durability (Santro has slight edge here). Both of them are not that good for 5 people.... For city driving both are equally good. I had the same dilemma and chose Estilo as it was newer (in Indian market atleast) has electronic power steering (Santro has hydraulic) and has some couple of creature comforts in top model like all power windows (Santro's top model has only for front) and electronic dual trip meters and odometer (Santro has that mechanical one which rolls). So in the end test drive both of them and you are sure to like one of them slightly more than the other (Note: Take your family with you for test drive and they will give their inputs too).Read More

hi navlovely, i agree that i10 looks to be a much better car, but don't get emotional over it. i10 is a bit steeply priced now and so people with lesser money are still attracted to estilo. In fact I am seeing a lot of estilos after i10 was launched.

Hi lucky_guy. Estilo is a very good car for the money u give. But you can now take a look at Hyundai's new i10 also as it might be a much better car. But then it is costly. Estilo is not a great car in highways. It cannot be good at sharp turns in speeds excess of 60km/hr. Its gear shift is long ...and might touch co passenger sometimes (and is difficult to latch in reverse sometimes) I knew these even before I got it and as I said earlier, it is a value for money car and not as such a perfect car. In fact no car is perfect :-)Read More

Good review and the Estilo is a decent car. I agree with you that the looks could have been improved but it has its own positives and it is a VFM car. It is selling in decent numbers too. I think estilo bashing has become a trend and people do it just for the sake of it.

I am surprised to see Baleno being called a bad car and it is no surprise that Estilo does not look good in the commenter's eyes. The Zen Estilo is not the most spacious car out there (Indica and Getz are the winners) but it is certainly comparable to Santro and WagonR and definitely a far better ca...r than Alto. There is no point in blankly criticizing it. I disagree with this reviewRead More

Well said drarnabpal. That coming from a Santro owner is a clear indication of the positives and negatives of Estilo. For our family of 4 it suits perfectly and Estilo scores in the interiors (beige) and features (fog lamps, keyless central locking, Immobilizer, etc) department also.

vishnubobade, If you go through my review and the comments from black_jets you will find that for some reason black_jets sort of hates Estilo. Believe me, Alto is NOT broader than Estilo and when I test drove Alto I personally felt very cramped inside, but no such problem in Estilo. The Estilo's Gea...r stick is long and I have indicated it in the review but then Alto and WagonR do not have better Gear Shifts (the throw might be a bit lesser but it is the same). So if you want best gear box stick with Santro. On the other hand both WagonR and Estilo are much better compared to Alto in space and power (Alto might cry if you have AC on and try to overtake). Again I would always suggest you to take test drive of all of them and know the truth instead of believing me or black_jets. Another thing is that I got close to 30-35k discount overall in Estilo but when I asked for WagonR the max available was 18k and Alto 12k. If you want any personal opinion on any particular area of Alto/WagonR or Estilo you can mail me at simon.peter@rediffmail.com and I would love to help you out.Read More

Wow Another highly satisfied Estilo owner. Kudos to you 'About.Tech'. I too heard about gory stories of Estilo's gearbox, but mine is already smooth and I think it will only get better. Planning to take it to highways on Jan next year. Thanks for your comments.

black_jets and my-car-my-baby, I really pity you. You don't seem to get the point. I have driven Santro extensively and I have not driven old zen but sat inside it and found it cramped for my height. I am not here to defend Maruti or Estilo. All I am saying is this - For my family of 4 (which will b...ecome 3 soon) and for the type of driving I do (95% city) it suited me perfectly. And boy everyone in my family is impressed with it. At the end of the day I feel so happy, proud and satisfied with my car. That is what I wanted in the first place. And I have driven just 200kms in the new car and fully in city. How can you compare the mileage of this with your OLD Zen. I will update the mileage part after alteast the first service. I also know that it was a discontinued model from Japan and accept that the car is certainly selling at a premium. But then it is new here. I know it suits me best and so went ahead and got it. I have written this review to those like me and having similar needs. I am sorry if it gave you some false impression that I am here to say that Estilo is superior to Santro or Old Zen. It is my choice baby.Read More

Dear black_jets, I will not be able to comment on the highway performance of Estilo, but gearbox is not that bad though it is definitely inferior to Santro. For your kind information I have driven Santro extensively and that is the reason I was able to confidently compare both of them. I will take t...he Estilo any day over the old Zen even if I find the old Zen's engine refined as the old Zen is cramped for my taste. The 5 star to Estilo is because it meets my requirements perfectly and I have no gripe over it. It may be a notch below in refinement and build but it has its own positives. Thanks for your comments and rating.Read More

Thanks hakoonamatata and crosswire. I am planning on writing more reviews after seeing your feedback. crosswire, your genuine unbiased report on estilo helped me when finalizing between estilo and santro. bahutas, as mentioned in the review looks are a highly subjective area. Estilo to me looks awe...some near a Santro and I don't really care if Estilo's sales chart is declining (I see a lot of them recently in bangalore). You may be right about the safety part (I am a newbie) but then Matiz also has the same design (correct me if I am wrong) and it was pretty much a hit in its segment.Read More
