Continuation.... As the work expectations increase, employee will need to learn things by spending from his pocket. Most of the certifications/higher education courses are not affordable for employees. So, the employee might not opt for such learnings. So, the companies will bare that cost if the e...mployee gives a valid justification to the manager/company. However , around June 2012, SonicWALL got acquired by DELL (Called as DELL SonicWALL now) and have got hikes recently, which are worse again. Hikes were ranging from 1-20% (Only 5-6 ppl got 20%) and rest of them got 8,5,2 % in increasing population respectively. Me and most of my team mates are very unhappy with the hikes.Hikes got reflected from August 2012. Me and many of my team mates are trying jobs outside. There are rumours that the office might shift to a different location. Mostly to whitefield perot systems office. Cab & Food facility might be taken off very soon once the Tech Support folks move to the main DELL campus, which is in EGL, Koramangala. Cab facility might become a paid service (Approx 1000 rs per month) and for food, they might give Sodexo coupons worth 2000 Rs. to employees. This got to be a big blow for employees and many ppl are in the company just because of such comforts :-)Read More

raj_srin, are you manager or HR ? If your answer is yes. Please try to address the issue or request you to understand the market before commenting... For a intern/fresher, i feel that he wants quality work, good hikes for delivering whatever is been done. After gaining some experience say 3 -4 years, it is difficult to learn, explore , compete and so on... So, here is the place where you need the manager the most rather than for an intern/frehser... Also, its surprising to hear that ppl search on basis of manager :-) Usually, ppl going out would look for good work, good pay, change of technology, work life balance, etc... Also, remember that managers are also employees and they would also keep on changing the job :-) So, how can you manage your job if you are so dependent of manager??? Yes, there is some 10-15% dependency on how good the manager is .. .But, that's not everything.,.. Secondly, on your comment -*** I think expecting sponsorship from company for higher education is too much. If you are interested in further education, you should prepare yourself for money, time !! **** >>>>> SonicWALL in the market (Products) is competed against CISCO, BARRACUDA, JUNIPER, MCAFEE, SYMANTEC, etc... Hence, they hire employees from such companies. So, you can go and check in any of these companies for a higher education/ Certification policy.
