Thanks guys!! I must however confess that I did go to a centre in Chennai where people were a lot more presentable and pleasentable and they helped in nailing the problem though the second time. But still my hard disk had to be changed and I picked up a 320 GB Seagate. Now it works just fine and I u...se it a second computer. But I agree to Mr Arjun’s point of view and also some other gentlemen. The minute these things started to be made in China or Taiwan, it has lost its charm. I still have a Sony trinitron the first color TV my dad picked up which has a made in Japan tag and you know what ’’It still works’’ though it has only 30 channels. Poor airconditioning, chews through batteries

Hi there, Most of the Laura's do have this problem of misty patches. Mine too, however I did find a solution. There is a setting on the AC position which indicates that the AC blow oto the boady rather than the feet. Position to duct to 2 clicks below the position that indicates directed to the body... towards the leg position. The AC will not hit your leg but just enough to prevent it from frosting. I did get mine resolved. on the compresser bit please do write directly to Skoda. Go to their Website. The Guys are the company in Ahmedabad are receptive and will respond as appropriate after looking at the time you initially complained about the AC cooling problems. Also when you have leathers and a darker interior and with a dark body colour, due to black body radiation the car does not cool quickly. Use a 3m filim that has a 70% visiblity. This will have good results. No If some one in th dealership said that the battery needs to be changed every year, then he needs to be pulled up and refered to the station manager. I have a few friends who have the old Laura and their battries have run for 75,000 KMs before their first change.Read More

Guys, I completely agree to the fact that the service needs to go a long way up if they need to stay competitive, however some of the reviews that I read on mouthshut are baseless and does not have the required contents. There is one gentleman who wrote about tyres left with a lump. This is primarly... due to the car being driven on low air pressure than what is recomended by the company. If its diesel then you are required to have 33 in the front with 30 on the rear and 30-30 for petrol. Stop cursing the car or the manufacturer for this. Additionally I think some of us need some education on low profile and high profile tyres. Low profiles give poor ride Quality however good grip and damages your suspension rather quickly on roads that are of current indian standards. In India you are required to use tyres that are high profile, which basically means more rubber and that means better ride Quality and reasonably good grip. I read another article about Amplifiers not functuinal as a bottle of water spilt on them. Now how is this a manufacturing defect. Some one tell me? This gentleman needs to understand 2 things. 1) water when split on any electronic device doesnot work! and 2) that most and I mean 95% of the Sound system dealers outside in the materket do fix the Amp on the floor bed under the seat. Bottles are not meant to be kept on the floor of the car as this when rolls to a position under the brake pedal would lead to a disaster.With all due respect Commensense!! Dont you think so??!! However if there is one thing Skoda need to change its the dealership service attitude. I did have a minor problem when a two wheeler guy crashed into the bumper of my car and I needed a replacement and I had to wait for 10 days for a replacement and yet it did not come. So I had to get tough. When you deal with the service centre staff, be demanding and be tough. Do not sport a smile. Remember A smile at a skoda dealership does not work. Msgill, Thanx!! I dont mean to confuse you but the Linea is an excellent piece of machine, but since I am more inclined to some speed as I am most of the time on the highway, I prefer the verna. The only problem with the Linea would be the service of the Tata's and the Prerna motors within Bangalore.... Thanks Guys for all the encouragement. G to answer your question on the 215. Well yes. The car is fitted with a booster to its fuel line which enhances the power of the car to UPTO 30%. When I got this fitted into the car, I set it at level 2 of the 3 settings that are available. In addition I have ...a KN fitted. So at level 2 and the KN filter she gives an total output of atleast 25%. Mathmatically the output should be in the range of 230 but errors considerations need to be taken into account. However if tou loo at the torque , she is quicker by 2.8 to 3 secs.
