Its not whether premium is cheap or expensive OR your process of buying through PolicyBazzar. Have you ever tried to to close/surrender policy OR any event which required you to get the money e.g. Close/surrender policy, illness, Death? Real performance of any Insurance policy for policyholder/nomi...nee should not be judged when you buy (where everyone is very nice as you are shelling out your money & they get hefty premiums) but it is when you redeem & ask for money.Read More

Sambit! I agree most of the point except one point: ''You can work from home also, no question asked!''. You do get work from home, but that requires PM's nod. Generally managers from tech background are nice here, but if you are in ERP product like SAP then it's horrible; most of PMs, PeMs are fro...m core industry background & they work like they are running a production shop.Read More

The reason for mandatory 3 mnths period: 1) Attrition control on paper 2) Billing. Mostly resources on project so they get the billing. This is true for all orgs 3) Company gets buffer to get new resource on board

Mistake Friend! Never ever join IBM (at lest I know IBM India) on lower salary. If you are looking at IBM just as a stop over for year or so then it's OK. You'll find yourself on same salary year after year.

Sheetal! I'm not defending IBM, but IBM band 8 equivalent in any organization (especially India) will expect to do some leadership role. At this position remaining purely technical means you should be of the patent level person; if not then you should able to manage complete technical dept meaning ...management thing comes into picture. As you climb the ladder org expects you to contribute in maximizing the ROI & driving the things. For this, short cut is doing management stuff. When people accept to be PeM in IBM (this is over & above normal work on papers) means they are contributing to org initiative :). Even if you compare with US counterparts, at the age of 50 he is doing coding; but he is in lower band. In US this is absolutely normal but we expect higher the age, higher the band.Read More

I also experienced similar problems in Accenture, India. I cleared all interviews in Dec-09 and waited for HR interview. These people asked me to upload all documents in the site including important documents like passport photocopy for referal check. I obviously asked them that without having HR ro...und how come I submit them, but they were adamant that it is must else interview will not happen. Then I submitted it in their site. Then started the horrible time. Almost twice a week I used to get mail from different HR people from Accenture asking to submit the same set of documents in different sites. I kept on doing that, but whenever I used to ask they kept on coming with the same answer of resubmitting again & again. After viewing the this culture I joined another reputed IT MNC. This sort of behaviour reflects how unorganized is this organization and how much unwanted rights HR enjoys there. I am 100% sure that Accenture had projects in pipelline in above 4 mnths period and they were just buying out time. In such cases they should clearly take candidates in confidence, many will understand this. But such a arrogant behaviour is unacceptable and controlling agency like NASCOM should take action against this.Read More

I am an ex-IBMer and I can say IBM India is a mixed bag with my 5+ years of experience. Things differ based on countries, IBM US is not same as IBM India. There are 2 managers with whom you interact: One is project manager  (PM) and one is people manager (PeM). PeM gives you the rating based ...Read more

I've recently shifted my car from Pune to Gurgaon (JUN-09). Went to internet site and found global. Called them and was trapped in the low cost trap. They offered Rs 6300/- for the car transfer including taxes. I readily agreed with closed eyes. They told me to give the car immediately as con...Read more
