I highly recommend that tourists avoid Matheran like a plague unless you want to torture yourself . Welcome to no power Bad roads Monkey menace Water shortage Monkey menace No street lights Locals waiting to fleece you Dirt & unclean streets / environment Horse dung everywhere Costly r...ides Torturous walk on roads No branded items available No power so so no cable network Very weak signals for mobiles Adamant shopkeepers who dont give receipts !
