Friends, I have been looking for a place to write about this third class news paper for a long time. As you all be knowing, the MM has been a pakka biased one for the last few years(Since 1982, I know the paper). Every one who reads that paper knows that its a biased one, but as theres no real competition for this news paper gaint, they cannot do anything, but read it.
I do accept that the best news coverage is available in the Malayala Manorama. But, have u ever noticed? the emotional touch given to the news? some malayali touch given?
I always believe that a news is a news. The newspapers are obliged to du that. In the Malayala Manorama, they give spice touch to each and every news, and give it some other dimension.
The reason the Malayala Manorama is still living is because the competitors like Mathrubhumi and Desabhimani(Yuk!) etc, are not having the even half the news coverage MM has.
At this point, I would like you to remember the incidents regarding the ISRO spy case, that was the creation of this MalayalaManorama, and later forgot by all Mallus. The news paper that was there, reporting all those spicy stories, did they ever said a sorry to the families of those who were heavily wounded by the case?
To my surprise, last week, I saw a news in the TV regarding the SNDP meeting at Kozhikode and I want to know the details of it the next day. Believe me my friends, there wasnt even a line of news, regarding the SNDP meeting or the BJP involvement in the meeting that day.
