Laugh till you cry!!

Leaving aside few Hindi Movies, all movies have managed to bring laughter to me. Be it Jaani Dushman - Ek Anokhi Kahani or Paataal Bhairavi or Haatimtai. Most of the films are dumb and I just can’t help but laugh on them! But, there are a few genuine comedy movies!LOL.. The movies which are made to make people laugh

Its very easy to make audience cry with on-screen drama, but its equally difficult to make people laugh!!! Some how, I have never liked David Dhavan’s cheap comedy or the ever annoying Johnny Lever trying to act smart in each and every movie.

My all time favourite comedy movies are as follows.. (This does not mean that I don’t like other movies which are not included here...)

Padosan

Saira Banu, Sunil Dutt, Kishore Kumar and Mehmood at their best!! Sunil Dutt playing the dumb village idiot who falls in love with his neighbour Saira Banu aka Bindu.. Even the songs of this movie are fun to listen and watch!! Specially ’’Ek chatur naar...’’ I just fall off the chair laughing whenever Saira Banu goes ’’Maaaaasterjeeee’’..

Bombay To Goa

I wonder if it is considered a comedy movie or not.. but I just love this movie!!! It is one of Amitabh Bachchan’s early movies and he looks awful!! But Lalita Pawar, beating everyone with her long hair, Manorama, fighting with Mehmood, and Mukri, with his ever hungry son fondly called Pakoda, steal the show!! Not to forget Shatrugan Sinha and Aroona Irani.. The movie is watchable anytime to lighten up the mood!!

Hera Pheri

Paresh Rawal, Suneil Shetty and Akshay Kumar have given their flawless performance in the movie and is an all time great comedy movie!!! My favourite part of the movie is when Suneil Shetty tells Babubhaiya that someone has called and is saying ’’Kabira Speaking’’.. and Babubhaiya replies ’’Kabira Speaking, mast naam hai reee’’ Also, when Paresh Rawal is showing Suneil around the house.. and when he shows the toilet and that ’’Raat ko raamlal ke saath sona padega’’.. Have seen this movie n number of times!!

Chupke Chupke

This movie has all the ingredients for a great movie!! I just can’t stop laughing whenever Sharmila Tagore goes ’’Jeehjaaahjeeh (jijaji)’’!!! Om Prakash has great timings of humour and I just love the way he appears confused when Dharmendra tries to confuse him with ’’Shuddh Hindi’’. Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan also act very well in the movie!

Golmaal

Hrishikesh Mukherji again!! Simple, yet great movie to watch!! Amol Palekar in his role of Ram Prasad and Lakshman Prasad aka Lucky and Utpal Dutt as his boss are simply amazing! A laugh riot throughout!! Chor Machaye Shor released some 2-3 years back starring Bobby Deol was inspired from this one! And, Farah Khan named SRK and Zayed Khan in her debut film Main Hoon Na as Ram Prasad and Lucky!! Utpal Dutt steals the show with his phenomenal timings and expressions!!

Munnabhai M.B.B.S.

Sanjay Dutt has great sense of timing when it comes to humour!! Plus, Arshad Warsi was also great in his role of Circuit and Boman Irani rocked as Dr. J Dot Asthana!! Though, some of the songs reduce the pace of the movie, the movie manages to touch your heart and bring laughter at the same time!!

Andaz Apna Apna

Last but not the least is my favourite movie Andaz Apna Apna!! I actually liked Salman Khan in the movie and loved the way he fights with Shakti Kapoor in the climax.. that too without touching each other!! The movie also stars Aamir Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon and Paresh Rawal! The best character in the movie is Crime Master Gogo played by Shakti Kapoor. My favourite scenes are when Paresh Rawal goes ’’Ramu mein hoon, mark idhar hai’’ and when Aamir Khan fires the gun and Shakti Kapoor starts dancing ’’hakkikiki thakkikiki hakkikiki thakk... ismein ek hi goli thi’’.. Rather, the whole movie is great.. Just can’t come up with a single favourite!!

Anyways, that’s all from me for the moment..:)
