At British Airways, my personal experience has been that the colour of your skin does matter. So today, using Mouthshut, I will want my ''Opinions to Matter.''

I have been visiting Mouthshut off and on, and one thing I would like to thank all of you is giving us a chance to complain and to make others learn from our mistakes.

I have flown British Airways 2-3 times in the last two years on Mumbai-London sector. Their service is dependent on the colour of your skin. The whiter and fairer you are the more respect and pampering you receive from them. Even cabin crew staff seem to be impressed with white colour.

Ok, I am not dark, but I am your fair-Indian. I am not white. I asked for a window seat at the check-in counter and that rude lady said ''Ma'm the flight is full. No window seats are available'' This was a year ago. Immediately after me, I saw a white guy--probably a Britisher and I overheard him requesting the lady a window seat. I saw later when I boarded the plane that this guy was in the window seat!!!

I asked the airhostess for an extra blanket, and she kind of like made a rude face. As if I was forcing her to work or as if she is doing me a favour by serving me. This same airhostess was smiling politely to every other customer next to me (most of them were white passengers.) Earlier this year in summer, I has gone to New York on British Airways for two weeks, on my returned, I was told that the connecting flight from London to Mumbai was full and that I will have to take the next flight. I found British Airways staff asking people of Indian origin to go on the next flight. Are we Indian beggars while the white passengers are king?

I am not as vocal as some members here on mouthshut. I know if it was mouthshut member Amrita, she would have even written names of all the staff involved, but I am more conservative. I want British Airways to educate their staff and tell them that every customer black, brown or white matters. I swear by God, I am not the only one who will complain to you about being discriminated by British Airways. Check Raju's review too. It is on same lines.
