I enjoyed Brahmastra. Please don't cancel me for that.

It started with a bang thanks to an unputdownable SRK cameo. The tone is set for what comes next. This is followed by a breezy romance between the lead pair to establish their love is timeless and pure and what not. Once the main song is done with, the movie picks up speed. Pritam btw hit it out of the ground with Kesariya. After a few spectacular fights and chases we reach a Himalyan sanctuary exhausted and toasted just in time for the interval. Soon our man find the right buttons to control his fire power and we are set for the final act. In the end love wins over apocalypse. I know its cheesy but you can't change Bollywood overnight.

The cast did a fair job in the acting department. Nagarjuna was disappointing. Wanted more of Dimple. Alia started well but became one dimensional later. Ranbir is always dependable. Amitabh was ok. Mouni did well. The real star of the movie is actually the VFX.it was truly magnificent and will set a benchmark for Hindi movies.

So why are people giving bad reviews to Brahmastra? I can understand that some may not like it, some don't like KJo, some just feel it is fashionable to troll Bollywood nowadays.but why trash something without watching it? End of the day it is undeniable that a lot of talented creative people put a lot of effort to make this movie. The attempt definitely was to match Hollywood and show what we are capable off. Some parts worked, some didn't which is understandable. I frankly felt the urge to go to the movies after a long time to watch Brahmastra and I was not disappointed. Lets just celebrate that and not add more negativity out there.

Last but not least It was fun to keep on noting the influences starting from Shaktiman to Mr India to Star Wars to Lord of the Rings to MCU to The Last Air bender to Vampires to Amish to Xmen to everything everywhere in pop culture. Ayan tried his best to blend the millennial mindset with the Hindu mythology angle but the effort was visible.

Recommend to watch in 3D to get a better flavour. The popcorns are waiting.go and enjoy the magic of movies.
