Murtuza : yes. 4.9 lacs was a on road price. i have heard Honda launched a new SMT with some 2-3 new features like driver seat hight adjustment,,, rear wiper, defogger etc... and increased some cost... SMT you are looking at might be that New SMT... so confirm about these features which are not in m...ine brio ( SMT). but again ,,,, 5.8 lacs is too much.... for this amount better go for figo or swift.Read More

i am really surprised to hear about the poor mileage you are getting ......
i am getting 13-14 km\l in city... and on highways it never came under 17 with AC and 19-20 without AC.
to get max mileage on highways drive in top gear with eco light on (1.5 - 2k RPM) and don't exceed 80-85km\hr....

i purchased brio smt 2 months back ...
i am really very pleased with its performance, looks and features.
obtained 22 km\l mileage on highway w\o AC , in top gear , rpm 2k, at a consistant speed of 70-80 km\h. with AC its 18km\l on highway and 12-13 in city.

but my main concern in AC ,,,, i have driven wagon R and santro too ,,, i found their AC better than mine Brio (SMT),,,,, any Brio owner having AC issue or i must go service centre for a check up .

Main cons :
u may feel dumps on bad roads....
Poor AC ( i have not tested other Brio,,, but mine BRio (SMT ) Ac is even poorer than wagon R and i 10.

hyyaaaaaa : as per your budget and your height , i would suggest you to go for swift VXI ,,,,, or if you can extend your budget a bit then swift Zxi,,,
if you want honda brio thats a nice option and you can go for the top model of brio,,, but its not a high car ,,, and with your height i would n...ot recommand brio to you.
with a height of 5.5 ft i dont face any issue as such....

I am done with 1st service today...
as Honda personal said it was a Top up service.
they filled the engine oil ( not changed ), checked all nuts & bolts,, changed my music player ( there was issue while connecting to usb ), checked AC, washed car,. and may be they did few other tasks i dont know....
it cost me nothing ( really 0 Rs ).
after service i went on to drive around 40 kms total on highway.
driving seems more smooth now, mileage is better by 1-2 km\l. brakes are good ( earlier they were little tight ) ,
but for gear shift problem they said that they cant do anything for this .... as per them this car gears are designed in this way that notches while shifting to 2nd gear. ( but thts not a big issue for me as it happens very few times . . . i can cope with this.)

urvik : about performance... i see no big issues as of now.... though i am not done with 1st service... i feel gear box a little notchy... it feels stucked somewhere when downgrading... i found AC is not so good. my father has wagon R ( CNG ) . Brio AC is not good as compared to wagon R.
car eng...ine and car cabin is super silent. I hear no noise at all. many times i even confused whether car is started or not.

vibhu_y2k2 : i wanted most of the features in my budget and swift was out of my budget ...
also being such a good car maruti persons were not ready to give a single rupee discount on swift ... but they were giving a 30-40k discount on wagon R and i10.

Ajay : i am using 32 psi in all 4s ,,,, actually i didnt evern know the correct psi . . . petrol pump worker himself did that . .. . . i will try your recommandations.

i bought a honda brio smt abt 20 days back . i am a new driver . for initial 250 kms I got 10.6km\l with full AC on. car run in 2nd or 3rd gear most of time.
after such a low mileage i decided to turn AC off to check its mileage and i was so amazed. i am getting a consistent 1...9-20 km\l on highways without AC . mostly in 4th\th gear with eco light on i.e 1.5k - 2k RPM. 22.5km\l is max what i got in these conditions. i hope it will improve as i am done only 550 kms till now .
i have not checked in city with AC but without AC its giving 15km\l in noida \ghaziabad.
sadly i had to sacrifice AC to get good mileage. but thank god for early monsoon.
