It is strange, but even I am left with a bad taste in mouth with Airtel broadband, I have to give them full stars in all the categories mentioned. For the problem doesn't lie in there. Those are place settings you are referring to, not plate settings. It is a standard parameter to measure capacity of dishwashers. Refer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Place_setting#Place_setting or just google table settings and follow wikipedia link for more information. Though measure...d w.r.t Victorian cooking style and certainly made to fit that style of cooking, you can still adapt it to wash for Indian style of cooking. The construction is NOT special for India. But most of it are pots and pans anyway. We are a north indian family, and we find it ok. Many south indian families I know also are happy.
Also Bosch have also launched their dishwasher series. They generally make good machines, so do have a look. Their features are certainly attracting.Read More

I use Finish detergent, salt and rinse aid. Choice is ours. Nothing is forced. But Finish is good. Having said that, I never used an...ything else.

It has been a good experience. More like what it was to shift from hand-washing clothes to machine-washing clothes. Why not before is what I usually ask myself. I never liked anyone touch my soiled plates. And I, like most men, am pathetically lousy to do all of it on my own. Now it is fixed.
No other cons. I would have liked faster program cycle. And easy installation. All there is to installation is to have the tail pipe like a inverted U to allow a certain back-pressure. Lower than recommended U height leads to trouble. Plumbers in India usually don't follow the instructions given in manual. And the machine gives some pump error and is dysfunctional. It had me piqued as it recurred a couple of times. After it was fixed, it has been smooth sailing.Read More

@sanraceexperto: You should not be interested in total dissolved solids but only the calcium carbonate part of it. The maximum value of hardness of water,AFAIK, is in texas with upwards of 1000 ppm. This machine has seven hardness settings and can look up to 50 dh ie around 900 ppm. I think more tha...n enough for any place in India. Other solids in TDS will make water alkaline or acidic. That means you will use less or more detergent respectively. Detergents are potash compounds which make the water very alkaline, thus increasing wash quality.
As far as going for siemens, I would have gone for siemens had I been promised instant delivery. I don't want to feel like 80's while waiting weeks for a product(rather buy a car to feel the same!!!). LG dishwashers are the whipping boys in foreign markets. Reason being poor service. Ironically, from my personal experience, their service is among the best, at least in bangalore. Bottom-line, this will be a product you will become dependent upon. So if the not so uncommon surge in voltage blows up your machine's motor, you don't want to wait 6 weeks for it's replacement. Double check siemens parts availability and service guarantee. It may be decent, but I don't know. With LG, it is known to be decent.Read More

@anurragh: I bought LD2152wh model. That's the only model from LG in India AFAIK at the time of writing. It cost me around 30K, I forgot exactly how much. Though prices have only fallen since then.
-It doesn't require any external heater. Heater is in-built.
-AMC stands for Annual Maintenance Con...tract. It is meant to be bought by customer for an extended warranty once warranty period concludes. Terms of AMC of LG can be seen from LG india site. You could have guessed that I am no fan of it.Read More

@SamBang... I found pre rinsing the pots used to prepare tea helps though not necessary. Wash is great if you don't overcrowd. If you do, you may have to rinse it post wash. But even then washing an almost clean vessel is not really a hassle.
Pressure cookers wash great too. But over time it blacke...ns as it aluminum made. Futura series has no problems. After a dozen washes you may want to clean cookers yourself once if the slight black tanning on your cooker starts irritating you.Read More

I have a fully automatic whirlpool machine. Its lying useless for lack of maintenance. I have called dozens of times but service center seems disinterested in anything out of warranty. Its over 6 months now that its not in service.

Yes it does...
What one also needs to consider that these dishwashers uses high potash detergents. These are much more stronger than the normal hand use detergents. So caustic are these that it can't be used by hand. Coupled with high temp. anything organic stands very little chance.
If you avoid ...being greedy by putting everything one over the other so that all is done in one wash, then 19 out of 20 times you will be very happy.Read More
