Help & Support:

I reason I choose to go for a dishwasher was that I used it abroad and found it very convenient. However the dearth of choices in India of dishwashers was surprising. Most probably with helpers easily available in households it doesn't seem like a feasible choice for users. What one does take for granted viewing things only financially is the hygiene point of view.

In blore practically you have two choices of brands for dishwashers. One is IFB and the other is LG. I was discouraged by all the negative comments and reviews on IFB. With a product which is considerably costly, the minimum one can ask for is prompt service. LG has good enough support, at least in blore, which I can say from my personal experience.

Pros:

  1. Saves Real estate at your house: With dishwashers, dirty utensils goes straight into a good looking white box. You save upon the big granite bars, your sink doesn't stink any more. And you get odd extra square foots in your house reserved for washing.

  2. No hassle of maids any more: Invariably in any household the number of utensils for cleaning at end of the day is sizable. Your maid, not without reason, starts cringing. They start doing work perfunctorily, leaving soap and what not on plates. It slowly reaches the point that if you see em washing crockery you  can't eat in it. Compared to the hygiene dishwasher promises, you will feel you money well spent just for the freedom from hassles of maids.

  3. Water Saving: Being in blore, it is an exciting feature too:) Surprisingly water is actually saved if you use em.

  4. Wash Quality: Supreme as compared to human washing.

Cons:

  1. Strange set up requirements: with LG at least, a plumber is very much required while setting it up. The tail pipe should be set up in certain way for it to work properly otherwise it gives errors.

  2. Not for all Indian utensils: Not everything can be shoved in. Anything aluminum blackens it over time. Big Kadahis wont fit it. Either ways the machine doesn't have magic hands to scrub away those burnt stains. So very few of em will be left with which your maid can help you but won't be much strain to do it yourself either.

Electricity bills won't tear away your pockets. I didn't even notice any differences honestly. Crockery washes like charm. At the end of cycle, which is long(another con. 2 1/2 hours) you will get nice warm, sparkling  utensils. The not so slow attrition on your favorite set of crockery by your maid(doesn't she break one every time you take em out) is over for good. Also, since they are dried, they look new longer.

If you are in a big city, the accessories should be easy to find.

In blore, you can find Finish products in MK retail. Better call lg double road office, and stock up for six months. You will need the detergent(which does the cleaning, this you add before every wash), rinse aid( for that water marks free glitter, once in like 15 days) and salt(once a month) to soften water. Overall  monthly you can assume a ball park figure of less than 500 for a household.

I have been using this product since last 10 months. Ran into troubles for my plumber didn't do exactly as told in manual while setting up. No problems at all.

Also the LG support guys, when they come for installation at your place, will push you for costly AMC. If I have read its fine points carefully it simply doesn't make sense for the first three years of warranty. There after I consider it crap any ways. But I will not go into it for this review is long enough and it warrants another review. I will recommend this product.
