UPDATE: ------------- The defective Fiat Linea car given to me that was giving horrible mileage and 3rd rate performance has been recalled by the Fiat TATA dealership to their garage. They acknowledged all the defects of the car including engine issues, mileage issues, body damage, bad qualit...y of interiors and other concerns and also apologized for their unprofessional and inaccurate handling of the entire issue. I was provided with a new Fiat Linea car some months back which is performing as expected of a new car. The new car was provided after directions from the Fiat CEO and TATA motors Chairman himself. @tomz4u55, what you pointed out was not true. I am not concerned about the gizmos and gadgets the defective and unsafe car was providing me. The defective car was consistently giving 4-5 kmpl. This was acknowledged by TATA motors themselves @rohit: All the issues i raised have been accepted by Fiat and Tata, so it is very much possible and accurate. Dear coolboy, If you read my review carefully and patiently, you will soon realize that it never said that all Linea cars give bad mileage. It is only the defective car that has been delivered to me, that is giving bad mileage and horrible performance. Please read the context of the revi...ew first before posting hastily. What you say is besides the point. Buying a petrol or a diesel car is not the issue here. Neither is waiting for the car to get serviced once or twice is the issue, or what warranties/perks they are offering me in this range. All the perks that Fiat is offering to its customers matter only when the ...car that they have delivered is drivable and is of good quality. New cars give marginally less mileage, because there is more friction in the engine. But the Mileage does not drop from a claimed 12-14 kmpl to just 5 kmpl even in a new car. This is one-third of the expected performance. Even a Limo gives better mileage, and this fact of poor mileage has been acknowledged by the dealer himself ! I am not going to lose some 20,000 rupees on fuel hoping that the first or second service will improve the mileage of the car . I am an owner of a Honda City as well. I never faced any such quality issues with it. There is a visible defect in this car, and FIAT should have had a good internal quality check to ensure that defective vehicles do not reach the customer. The real issues here in my case are as follows: 1. How did this defective car reach the customer in the first place? 2. Who is responsible for providing such shabby service to the customer? 3. Why should the customer be made to pay for someone else's mistake? 4. When i delivered the car back to the dealer for quality checks, there was no even a pickup facility provided, which is a common courtesy. I had to get the car re-fueled again and send my personal driver to deliver the car to their service center. Who is going to compensate me for the inconvenience caused ? As a customer who is aware of consumer rights, and demands good service, especially when he has paid for it, my dissatisfaction is justified.Read More

I had purchased a Linea Dynamic petrol on 28th of May. I have been horrified with the performance of the car. Within 1 week, i have sent it back to the service centre with many issues as listed below... 1. I travel from east delhi to gurgaon daily. This round trip is around 80 kms a day. I had go...t 37 litres of petrol filled in the car, immediately after taking delivery. The car's fuel indicator went to empty in 207 kms, thus giving me 5.6 kmpl only..which is pathetic. Considering that the car was driven on gurgaon's wide airport roads and national highway 8..these figures are alarming. I have hauled up the dealer and sent the car back for quality control checks to see what the problem is. The service centre test drove the car today itself to calculate the mileage independently, and they also landed up with a figure of around 7 kmpl. 2. The service centre seems to have a shortage of trained fiat engineers, so they will act on the car only next monday..and are now sending me a replacement car in the interim. 3. The padded roof of the car was damaged on delivery, which they will now change. 4. The pickup of the car on the 1st and 2nd gear is very average, and on the lower side. This car seems to be grossly maladjusted and is a defective unit as other people dont seem to have the same problems on mileage. TATA motors need to have trained fiat engineers available..at all times so that cars do not lie idle with them in their service centers. TATA-FIAT should have proper quality control checks and inspection before car delivery.Read More
