I have no problem flying economy, this was the least of issues. You stated it right. It depends on luck and if your luck betrays you and you need the standard services in case of emergency or at time of difficulties such as delays and closed airports then the passenger will be left to sleep on the airport floor!!!! It's a one time experience and doubt it's enough to form an opinion. Besides, it's being compared with low quality airlines and not competitors in the market.

Most of the comments here talks about FOOD. Then jumping to assault airport staff in mid-east though he's only been to Bahrain and Dubai (Gulf Air do have a stop in Abu Dhabi also). Evaluation should be on overall service, and with all due respect you can't compare service received in Gulf Air with... service you receive from Emirates (Which is in a class of its own).
