No Less Doesn't Mean MOST I respect your point. However, that is a quite a claim. MOST POPULAR? MOST RECOGNIZED? I need to come out from behind the rock and see more of what's going on in the world, huh?

Shah Rukh Most Recognized Indian?

Feb 15, 2008 09:49 PM General 502 Views

I had a debate with someone who insists that SRK is the most recognized Indian. More than ARB, I asked? He said yes. I think he's crazy. I liked my first SRK movie. Then I realized they're all the same. Can't stand the man anymore. ...Read more

Puddar, very fine review you have written. Mazaa aagaya! I can't wait to visit SBI on my next trip to India. I am sure the ad campaign will hit me the moment I land at the airport. I tip my hat on a job well done.

Shame on HDFC. May they rot in hell! As our Italian friends say, don't get mad, get even. Your review will open the eyes of many who waste their time with jokers like HDFC. Thank you for a to-the-poitnt review.

Your review has a pompous tone, I wasn't comfortable reading it. Somehow it spoke more of the writer than of the movie. And your pomposity seemed humbled when I realized that you found Foxx unbearable in a role that got him an Academy Award nomination. A pompous man who has much to be humble for! I ...won't be surprised if you 'simply don't agree with this 'Sh*%#' ;-)Read More

All you concerned brothers and sisters, I am thinking of a rally at Azad Maidan in Mumbai and JN stadium in New Delhi to assert our rights as members of this site and insist that they don't sell it without consulting us first. MouthShutters of the world...UNITE. If you're interested, please send ...me your emails. We will need lots of volunteers to get the word out. If you organize, please make sure the press is informed. We need to press upon M/s Faizal and all that we too have rights over what they do with our MS. People in other cities should organize something similar. Even if it's a few of you, do it. And call the press and send a strong message to Faizal. I was taught in primary school: One man's hands can't tear a prison down Two men's hands can't tear a prision down But if one and two and fifty make a million We'll see that day come true We'll see THAT DAY come true Unite. I hope you're not planning your retirement on the MS points, Shajan, it's just that you don't seem to have that many ;-) Good review though. For me, writing on MS is its own reward - gets my ideas out on stuff I am feeling bad about and lets me create positive buzz on things I like that will ...helps others. Just like Faisal bought some stuff using his GPRS phone. I know I have made purchasing decisions based on reviews here far too many times to count - so I owe a debt of gratitude to your folks. Faizal is Shahrukh and who else? 'faizal tu to sharukh ban gaya...sharukh ban ke kaisa tan gaya...' (with apologies to Sri Dilip Kumar in Sagina) I promise i am not drunk just amused. MS is always good for stuff like that!Read More

Pradeep, I am thinking next time I am in India to organize an event of MS members in Bangalore or Bombay - let us as readers of MS take control instead of waiting for Faizal and others to do something. Thoughts? I'd like to hear from others too.

(criticism of MS - why can't i post longer comments? I have to break mine into 2 since I ran out of space) Faizal’s accent is interesting. I notice this in most desi guys (and gals) after they have spent 13 or more hours in a ’’forayn’’ country. Your young Indian liv...ed there many more from what I recollect. Besides, can’t fault a guy who lives in a country where anything local is ’ghar ki murgi daal barabar' and everthing forayn is idolized. Joking aside, your comment on Faizal's accent is where your otherwise fair sounding criticism lost credibility with me - it became an argument ad hominem and that is never a good thing.Read More

You raise some good points. I too think that MS pushed the limits on publicity a bit. Honestly, that seems to be the Indian way though. As a proud desi, I mourn the fact that being SUBTLE is not a part of ANYTHING INDIAN. So I agree that MS is guilty of that, but it seems very much in line with w...hat the trend seems to be in India. With MS not sharing profitablity figures and names of companies. That is hardly a valid criticism. I don't know what Faizal gains by revealing those. Fact is, MouthShut has been operating for a real long time and continues to be there when many have come and gone. Oh, and I thought their offices looked quite lavish and I counted more than a handful of people...so something is working for them! I know a few people were 'banned' for what MS called a violation of MS policy. My wife writes reviews on this site and I know some people started harrassing her and she complained to MouthShut. Apparently MouthShut warned them against violation of policy and they straightened their act. Again, in our lovely country, there are a whole bunch of frustrated men who have nothing better to do than harrass anyone with breasts. If MouthShut bans them, it is a responsible thing to do. I for one do not miss them. I don't care they were prolific writers - a policy is a policy and when not enforced it tarnishes the experience of everyone. In conclusions - all companies could use media coverage. I welcome the coverage of MouthShut - the publicity it is getting is well-deserved. It is a testament not to Faizal or the programmers, it is a tribute to the people who are speaking their mind on this forum - at least those of us who can do it without harrassing others :) Faizal's accent is interesting. My experience with these jokers hasn't been very different from yours. I particularly agree with your implication that in a truly free market they'd be bankrupt by now.
