Thanks for the rating and valuable comments sid_1188 & raghava_master... also congrats to sid_1188 @srikanthnt... I would suggest wait for CBR-150 and chk out what more you are getting. Else Unicorn and many more choices are always there!!! To your queries sid_1188... I did mention... to keep the fuel knob OFF and start your bike in the morning... and mentioned so just to ensure tht you dont idle for longer periods and the idle time remains uniform daily.. once the bike shows sign of getting off, turn the knob to ON position and ride on!!! To your second point... In the initial period (1000kms).. keep it <4k rpm. The next 1000kms <6k rpm. Do go in for occassional blasts.. but keep them short. I know its difficult to resist the temptation of speed, but take care of your beast now and it will take care of you always!!! Keep them coming :)Read More

I am grateful for your comments and rating guys... raghava_master, sid_1188 & bangre!!! @akshayp707: will try keeping up! @sid_1188: Yes, I heard they keep us waiting... Honda or dealers is a totally different question though!! @fairoz172: First CONGRATS!!! Don't wait till the... first service... 30kmpl is too less... make sure you ride without engaging the clutch when not in need :) Replacing parts... well, your bad luck has to help them too... anyways.. get the engine oil from Honda and you can tell your local mech to use it for re-filling. @raghava_master: Gr8!! do post whn your beast is delivered. @alsdeepak: Gr8 tht you could control the adrenalin rush so far... jst keep in mind... welcome the vibrations with the RPM>4.5 for sometime.. this is coz that range is going to be polished next.. so don't be surprised and cruise on!Read More

Sorry guys... was on a vac. thus couldn’t reply. @Unicon_2011: Thx for the rating buddy! I too hope you get it by end of '11 @fairoz172 : Yesterday I got my Uncorn from Haiku Honda, its awesome to ride the bike... Congrats dude! Did I missed anything to collect from them or these... are the only documents which we get while buying Unicorn? You will get the SMARTCARD within 65 days by post to your residence or whichever address you provided while booking. If not delivered, call your dealer, note down your details and walk in to the RTO office from where your bike has been registered. They will give you the SMARTCARD. This is also called the RC. @akshayp707: HI mr.bean,, I hv dazzler.. . till 1000km i had maintain speed of about 40-45 kmph.... Will d vibration decrease after some days or remain 4ever... As I have mentioned earlier, it takes time for the engine parts to tune in during running-in, they rub against each other and results in vibrations. Because you have been rind 50 is being tuned. Since we ride 60 range takes more time as we ride less in this range. The more you ride >60 sooner it will be smoothened and reduce the vibrations. @haipavan24: Can i fit HID in New CB Unicorn? YES, you can! If yes plz guide me how to get that fitted.. I dont remember the exact model but check the OSRAM kit and also the battery compatibilityRead More

@alsdeepak: Unicorn has this cold starting thing associated with it always. Actually I should say that this is how the machine is! Every bike has its own features, advantages and disadvantages. You can consider this as a disadvantage of Uni. But as you have mentioned that it takes 10 kicks to start...... I am worried with the tuning of your bike coz mine has always started in 1 kick. Regarding oil leak, get it corrected during first service if minor or else get it done now... better with a local mech.Read More

@srikanthnt: There are different ways to check mileage. 1. When the bike reaches reserve, mark the kms and ride till the fuel lasts. Assuming 1.3 ltrs in reserve, calculate the mileage. This may not be accurate for many reasons though. 2. When the bike reaches reserve, mark the kms, fill 1 ...ltr petrol and ride till the bike reaches reserve again. This tells you the mileage which you can get with 1 ltr fuel. 3. Mostly followed and can be alwz observed in practical terms. When the bike reaches reserve, mark the kms fill 12 ltrs petrol (tank capacity of Unicorn as per manual negating reserve capacity of 1.3 ltrs). Later, when the bike reaches reserve, calculate the mileage keeping 12 as the base. You can also use up all the fuel (even in reserve) and then fill to the maximum capacity, mark the kms and ride till fuel empties (in reserve too). Now calculate: kms run/No. of ltrs. 4 One more method is followed in the service centres, thats using an amount of fuel in a bottle and checking how many kms the bike runs with it.Read More

@srikanthnt: I believe the waiting period is because of the high demand and the Hondas not being able to produce as many Unicorns as needed and thus playing safe. In some cases its also because of the dealer who wants to take advantage of this situation and make some quick money for faster delivery.... I think waiting for ~50 days is a norm for Unicorn, but exceeding 2 months should be reported to the Honda India guys. Send an email to Honda2wheelers.com. The OTR price does vary because of variable taxation norms and registration charges in different states. Also, the accessories rates may vary (optional though). Getting Unicorn in 15 days may be a referal influence or at a cost of few extra thousands. Do report to Honda India site if you see any such thing though. This will definately help other buddies with lesser waiting time as an impact. Regarding purchase date, well if you wish to get the bike by feb or march, then book it in Jan. Its always better to start with a new year!!!Read More

@bhanukrishnavarma: Also, if you suspect that the sound is either from the engine or the chain, then grease and tighten/ loosen your chain from a local mechanic. If the sound still exists then surely chain would be out of the doubt list and the source would be different. This shall help in narrowi...ng down to finding the culprit. I hope your problem is rectified soon :)Read More

@bhanukrishnavarma: Frankly speaking, I have never heard of this type of problem and have no idea and wouldn't like to misguide you without knowing the cause. I would just suggest you to take it to a local mechanic and find out the source of this sound. Then go to the service guys and get it corre...cted. Do let me know once its solved!Read More

@kabhishe Yes I do agree on the vibration above 60 for the initial days... its this way... below 60 SPEED and around that RPM range.. the metal parts have been polished and now its the 60 and above range that is going to be polished, thus vibrations. Since we ride less in the range of 60-80kmph d...uring the initial period, it takes more time to get polished. It will become smooth after 2nd service and butter smooth after 3rd service for its life. I hope you get it! Ride safe :)Read More

@Ajay: My riding range is mostly between 50-70 kmph. Often between 70-90 kmph and very rarely between 90-110 kmph... thats only when the coast is clear!

@Ajay: 100% TRUE! @akshayp707: Just take a note of Ajay's point... also this is what I have maintained alwz... get the engine warm enough. It'll rock. @alsdeepak: Will chk and update. If its true also.. in case of a crash, if you have the crash guard in place, there's nothing to worry abou...t in most cases, it will take all the pressure! Read More

@akshayp707: Congrats buddy!!! I would just say... dont worry much. These are not problems; its termed adaptation! Once you adapt to the responses your machine offers, you'l rule the roost. Chill down and ride safe! @Sarath: Gr8 buddy!
