Perfectly useless review. Mate - why the hell do you bother to review a car that you don't own and don't even want to buy?? Why mislead people mate? And we all know how to go to the net to get the specs of a car and reviews about a car from other sites across the world. Comming back to Getz ...- it is a good car, but, spec sheet says Swift produces more power and infact I can confirm that mileage is better on Swift. Secondly, if you are still not confirmed yet, go and see the sales figures of both these cars and you will realise which one is better. If you are in a world where you think that the world is full of jokers who unnecassarily are running after Swift, then just to enlighten you further, it is the Getz and not the Swift which had to have an engine change and relaunched as Getz Prime. And look what Hyundai does - Fit a Santro engine in there - So, is this what your latest technology is all about?? Getz Prime 1.1L as of today is so slow - it is slower than Xeta and here you are comparing it with Swift. Price of Swift matches that of 1.1L Getz and not the 1.3L Getz. 1.1L getz doesn't have performance and pick-up. And 1.3L Getz inspite of being expensive by 1 lakh, it doesn't have fuel efficiency. Cheers Mate !!Read More

This review is misleading. To start with, the esteem engine is not outdated. Being in Australia, I can confirm that esteem is the same car that was sold across the world as Swift sedan. Even as of date, the engine block of the Swift that is sold in India remains the same as those sold elsewher...e. It delivers the same, it is the same 1.3 liter engine. The only thing different is that we have an option of a bigger engine elsewhere (1.5L). Having said that, considering the quality of roads we have in India, Do we actually need a bigger engine? Additionally the only thing different in the engine is the here the engine has VVT, whereas in India it comes with DOHC - this is to reduce the cost of the vehicle as no one in India will be willing to pay up extra. Most important of all is that a lot of Suzuki cars as of date are manufactured in India and exported abroad !!!! Infact, barring VVT, there is no difference between an International Swift (1.3L) and Indian Swift (1.3L). One can not even make out any difference in looks, performance or any perceivable difference in the cars. In terms of looks, it is the same looks as international model - So, can they be vintage or outdated? Going by the same criteria, a more outdated car is the Hyundai GETZ which has been sold abroad for ages - in 3 door and 5 door formats. For Getz prime, they have selected the Santro engine - an engine developed for 1 Tonne car being fitted into a 1.5 tonne car. Why and how come? Is it for Fuel economy? The same engine of Getz Prime still suffers to deliver the same fuel economy of the Swift !!! So, the swift engine, being bigger and more powerful, still manages to deliver more fuel economy than a Getz Prime / Santro - Swift being heavier than a Santro. So, what is more modern? A technology that delivers better mileage and power or something that is refined, but is no good in terms of performance and mileage? I prefer the Swift.Read More

Another factor to be considered here is that the value of the car after 5 years is going to be different - Diesel Indica will fetch you more than a indica petrol - where is this figured out?

Hi, I think there is a problem with the EMI figures you have stated. To start with the difference between Indica Turbo DLX and Indica Xeta GLX (equivalent models of indica in terms of features) is only 75 to 80K. Secondly, even for a difference of 1 lakh, the EMI cannot be so different - the EMI i...n this case differs by 2464 for a price difference of 1 lakh - plz check.Read More

Please note that when I say Gas, I mean Petrol and not LPG / CNG. I have done a bit of research on the topic of Diesel or Petrol and I am kind of vexed and frustrated with the confusion on this topic. For a guy like me, who is on the cusp of things really with a distance of about 25 to 30 kms...Read more

Yes, TCS Victor is not too good when it comes to pick-up. Rather it vibrates at slightly higher speeds (above 55 kmph). But, you need not worry about the mileage because your bike is still in the run-in period. Once the run-in period is over - generally after 4 to 5 months depending on the usage, th...e mileage picks up dramatically. I had a similar experience on my Passion Plus. So, the mileage will definitely pick-up and will go to about 65 to 70. During the run-in periods, companies generally set a rich fuel - air mixture which results in more fuel usage and less mileage. On the third service generally they set it to the normal limits thereby resulting in better mileages. Regards, K PrasadRead More

Will your centra run on water ?? Or did you forgot to sit on the bike when the bike was running ?? Common man, if a centra that weighs 105 Kgs, plus 60 kgs of your own weight (total of 165 kgs) gives a mileage of 144, then, a car weighing 600 kgs will start delivering a mileage of 30 plus - Do you... really think that it is possible ?? Grow up buddy and don't make this statement while selling centras that it will give a mileage of 144 kmpl. People will pelt you with stones if you act crazy like this.Read More

Hi, I finally visited another service center (Creative at Chakala, Andheri East). Talked about the issue to one Mr. Sumit. He is a young and a very patient lad - liked him. He then explained the scenario to a mechanic who then fixed the issue. The list of problem that needed to be addressed were a...s below: 1. The tapets were too tight. There was no valve clearance at all. It was needed to be reset. 2. The engine was running at 1600 rpm as compared to 1400 rpm which the company specifies. This was also to be corrected. 3. The spark plug was cleaned. 4. The Nuts of the rear wheel were loose. It was tightened. 5. The fuel air mixture was wrongly set. As the idle speed was set higher, it wouldn't have created much of a problem if an appropriate amount of air was going to the engine, however, the amount of air was constant and the amount of fuel increased - leading to starting problems because of lesser air and also reduced mileage because of more fuel consumption. This has been now reset to normal. The issue above was primarily because the Auto Link Guys have never done any service on the vehicle but they simply changed the engine oil and handed over the vehicle back in my first service. Not to mention they made a cool 500 bucks of a horrendous job of coating the vehicle with a special polish. In the morning today, the bike started on the first kick - a good response, but too early in the day to predict the overall improvement. Atleast, I am happy to this effect that there is one service center who finally has done a job with proper investigation. Though, the damage that the previous scenario has done to the engine is a bit irrepairable - as I understand. I recommend, Mr. Sumit from Creative and the general behaviour of all at Creative service agency for all HH bikes and I am strongly against the Auto Link guy. I shall say service centers like the Auto Link Guy should be banned by HH. Regards, K PrasadRead More

Thanks a lot for the info... The bike was bought at Fort Point in Mumbai and the service center in question is the Auto Link service center at Borivali West. I shall contact Mr. Shrikant and put forth my concern to him. Thanks a lot. Regards, K Prasad

Well, To start with, I don't see anything wrong in this article of you Chandni. Actually, you have expressed your thoughts in an excellent manner. And for those who don't believe in taking things the way they are supposed to be, forget it - that's what. It is rare to see a Girl writing on Bike...s - to this effect, I should congratulate you for your efforts. I do agree with some of your comments towards the looks of a bike and quite frankly, looks do matter while buying a bike - Isn't it Guys !!! It is immense shame that instead of encouraging a rare person like Chandni, who wishes to share her thoughts about bikes; some choose to scrap the work. I just pity them. And I am writing this in total agreement with your views which even my wife feels are a near accurate representation. Regards and keep up the good work.Read More
