It has been 3 years since i bought the car in 2006 June. and it is perfoming excellently till now. I moved to the US last year and i sent the car to my parents' place in Assam. It is amazing that Suzuki which rules the Indian market is a also-ran company here in the US (well i did see a couple of Gr...and Vitara's and even SX4's here and there!!). But overall honda and Toyota rules the market here. coming back to the WagonR, i don't know if it is going to stand the test of time. In past few months, many new models have been launched, i20 and i10 are notable among that. Would be happy to learn if the era of 800, Zen, Alto etc is over now. pl. share your comments..Read More

Since your car is new, I would say do not drive beyond 100 KPH before your first service..Also, dont race the engine too much..How you drive the car for the first 5000 kilometers, till your second service, pretty much decides how the car will perform later..I have a wagonR and i do not find any iss...ues while overtaking other vehicles or feel less power or more strain on the engine..i drive at around 100-110 kph, because i have felt the car is very smooth at these speeds and once i cross 120, it sometimes feels dragging on the engine and vibrates mildly.. Happy driving !!Read More

Thanks hakoonamatata for the wonderful comments..Recently I drove my car to Rajasthan and I was amazed by its performance on the highway..I was overtaking almost any vehicle at will (including larger cars like esteem/ikon/scorpio) and the car is extremely stable at 100+ speed..Very good engine perf...ormance at such high speeds..I didn't at all feel that I am at such high speeds(I was consitently above 100 and touched 120 for few seconds/minutes intermittently)..I am not aware of performnace of other small cars..So, if any of you can share your experiences, it will be great!Read More

Request you to please write in small letters and with punctuation marks (commas, full stops etc) so that it is readable..also, i guess the review should have actual user experiences, so that it helps other fellows..which was sadly not there..

I am sorry if I hurt any AD loyalist ! The intention of this review was to give a first-hand experience of my feelings and in no way to downgrade the airline..Honestly, I do not see how they can hold onto their marketshare with this level of service, with a inferior product..

Well, to be honest, I couldn’t understand the need to upgrade and launch a new WagonR by Maruti at this point of time (Zen is being launched in a new shape in Oct ’06) and it will be a direct compete with WagonR (If you ask me, I will anyday buy the Zen, if I found the car better-looking and with mo...re utility, Zen's engine is better, quieter, more fuel efficient)..Also, launching a LPG car is very fine(But, where will we fill gas! ..There are no LPG filling stations- at least not in Delhi)..Why not CNG? That would have been more wise. Anyway, the engine, suspension and body remains the same..Maruti got inspired by the ’’Innova’’ and tried to copy the front and back of the car to wagonR..The rear-foldable seat was a unique thingin wagonR, but now it isn’t anymore..The car still looks pretty much the same from the sides..But, I am conspicuous why people should buy it especially since they know 10 new small-car models are being launched in next 10 months (including Maruti’s own Zen) All in all, I muist say smart move by Maruti but again time will tell how this new model fares.. Thanks Sumanis007..For your comments..! Well, I had driven a test car (kept at the showroom) - Xing XO and honestly I did find the noise more..The compariosn was instant since immediately after driving the Xing, I drove my friend's WagonR and I could sense the difference..It was clearly noticable... and not negligible.. I guess, individual opinion may vary, but the differnece could be that since it was a test car, i found it more..and it could be very different in a well-maintained owner's car.. As for the awkward vision, I agree fully that the ergonomics of the wagonR are not good and this is indeed an issue.. Thanks for your wishes.I am driving on the Delhi roads and trafiic and already got a couple of scratches on the bumpers..Well, i guess could not help it :( Read More

Thanks guys for your comments.. I am trying to address the points/issues mentioned by some of you.. TM mentioned about the Autocard..I also agree it is a very good feature and further enhances the brand value of Maruti.. Anwar talked about the looks v/s utility between WagonR and Santro..Well..., looks is very muched based on perception amd vary from individual to individual..If you ask me, Santro looks more stylish, more expensive and more chic/hip than WagonR..Also, there are lot of practical conveniences in Santro..As I mentioned, it is a 'better' car to drive and 'manouver' and is more 'zippy'..However, Santro failed on few counts (which were paramount for me)..And these were, back-seat comfort, boot-space and stability of the vehicle.. Smartwonder talked about launch of a LPG version of WagonR..Well, I really don't have much idea about it..I did try to find out the future plans of Maruti about WagonR and my sources told me there are no plans to change the current version/variant of WagonR..One of the sources included someone very close to Mr. Jagdish Khattar (Maruti MD)...Analysing Maruti's expertise in producing Petrol cars, it is a bit ambitious move if they are indeed planning to launch a LPG version (I believe this will significtantly lower WagonR's brand value).. As for Zen, you all may be knowing, Zen is being relaunched in a new shape and Maruti had stopped production of Zen sometime back.. I bought the car from Marketing Times in Delhi..I am satisfied with the dealer.. One advice to everyone would be never to buy/fit any accessory from the showroom..They will charge at least 50% than the market..You can buy your accessories from the market... Thanks Mayunk for your comments..I would suggest you take a test ride of both the vehicles, analyse your priority and then take a decision..If you ask me, at the end of the day, both these cars are very very comparable on almost all factors and there is very little to differentiate the two..Read More

I started out with a budget of upto 4 lakhs. Fuel efficiency, after sales service, inside space, drivability and resale value were my prime concerns. I needed AC with heater, Power steering as minimum fitments. I short listed four cars. Alto, Santro, WagonR and Indica (Turbo Diesel). I took o...Read more

Except Looks, do you consider WagonR in any ways inferior to Santro. So, if I am OK with the looks, should I go in for WagonR ? I heard it gives more mileage and of cos has the Maruti service advantage.

The K500i comes for 13,500 in Delhi comparted to the 17,000 for K700i..I think the memory card is smaller and also the display size is smaller compared to the K700i..You can go to the Sony Ericsson site and compare directly for yourself..It would give you a better idea...All in all, the K500i is a l...ittle toned down version of the K700i..But then nothing like the original !!Read More
