After using it for around 7 good years and around 38000 kms on Shine, I thought I should come back and put in some feed on Honda Shine.
Let me tell you the problems I faced through the years first.
1. Leaky battery - had to change it to Amaron with 5yrs warranty on 2011 (after 3 years of purchase).... The side cover got spoiled because of the acids draining from the battery. No problems since then other than my Shine being a bit lazy to crank on during the cold mornings. Remedy - using choke :)
2. Tyre's - I don't really trust them..!!! Very skinny, I'm now used to the minor skidding on wet roads. Being cautious saved me all the time...
3. No fifth gear - you cross 40km/hr, you will get the question from Shine- 'Where is my 5th gear....damn...it... ?'. I would have loved to ride the Shine at 50-60 in much relaxed way, if they got that 5th gear.
Now, the good side.
Very dependable. If you are single rider, you can take this through the busiest roads with ease. The engine is more than enough for Indian city roads !
I was surprised with the ownership cost i came across thorough these years. I'm sure the Bajaj's, the Yamahas and the Heros would have drained my pocket ..!
All you have to do is to give the bike some respect and regular service - at least an oil change every 8-10 months...that's it...Honda Shine will be your best friend in Indian roads. cheers...!!!Read More

How will you rate for the sound quality, if i say for bose 5.1 unit, the rating you give is 7 out of 10 ?

Yes I really mean it. I was using Hero Honda Passion since 2001 which I was really proud of excluding some problems like low pickup(than Splendour) and really bad headlights(Parking light bulb was more brighter that main bulbs) and the like.
