My SX4 VVT is also giving an average of 6.8 - 7.2 KMPL in city driving in Bangalore, after driving for more than 10000 KM. I have been driving since Jan 2010. I was getting around 7.5 - 8.5 KMPL before 3rd service but it has become worse now. I am also getting same reply from Maruti that I should ge...t better mileage after after 1st and 2nd service but already 3rd service is over. On Maruti’s website URL http://www.marutisuzuki.com/Maruti-Suzuki-launches-new-SX4-w ith-VVT-engine-and-automatic-transmission.aspx it is mentioned that ARAI mileage is 15.6 KMPL which is just not true.Read More

Dear Rizwan, most of the do's and dont's you advised are commonly known to most of the car owners..Yes, I do follow them where possible. These are idealistic to think of but difficult to follow on Indian city roads . Most of the times, by the time you shift to 4th / 5th gear and reach 50 - 60 KMPH s...peed, either you hit a bad hump, pot hole or some traffic Jam...Following the good driving habits can only be wish and good mileage is only dream.Read More

You are probably one of those lucky ones getting mileage of 12.5 KMPL in the city and 15.5 KMPL on highway which is what Maruti claims, as per ARAI test conditions. But how did you really tested the mileage ? Was it reserve-to-reserve or full-tank-2-full-tank or any other way? I am curious on this p...art as my purchase was around same time ...SX4 VXI 2009 Dec model but got delivered on Jan 1st week of 2010. but getting just 7.5-8.5 KMPL in city, around 11.5 KMPL on highway. Maruti dealer says this is what most of SX4 owners are getting.Read More

What you have mentioned about poor mileage is true and is mentioned by many members on this forum. I am also getting same 7.5 - 8.5 KMPL within city and 11 - 11.5 KMPL on highway in my SX4 VXI VVT 2009 Dec model. I test fulltank-to-full tank which gives more accurate results. Suspension is really ha...rd which my family members sitting at back told me during a long driving. I have complained to Maruti dealer several times on mileage issue and they have told me this is what you can get and many others are getting and nothing can be changed as everything is electronically preset !Read More

I purchased my SX4 VXi model during last week of Dec 2009 and got the delivery of vehicle in Jan 2010. Before I made a purchase decision, I test drove TATA Manza, FORD fiesta, FIAT Linea and have also driven old Honda city ZX model few times previously (belonging to my relatives). I have purchased SX4 VXI (VVT engine) around Jan 2010 in Bangalore and is consistently giving between 7.5 and 8 KM/Ltr in city, with AC. If someone says they get 13KM, please recheck if you are verifying properly. One of the correct ways to measure mileage is put full tank of petrol, make one o...f the trip meters (either A or B) to ZERO, drive the car for next 100 - 150 KMs, go back to same petrol pump and put full tank again (now a days most of petrol bunks have petrol pumps that automatically stop when tank is full). Now, note down the number of liters you have put and the number of KMs you have run so far on the trip meter. If you divide the number of KMs on trip meter by numbers of liters you have put, this gives more accurate results of mileage! Otherwise, your calculations would be inaccurate as SX4 does not have any low fuel indicator which comes in other cars like Honda Civic / City etc. SX4 is more likely give 13KMs / Ltr and above, only on long drives but not in city driving. I have checked with some of my neighbors about the mileage of SX4 in our flat and they told me same thing..around 8 to 9 KM /Ltr in City driving. All these Car manufacturers claim higher mileage which is not true Update (09 Apr 10): I went to the dealer to check my car mileage after seeing other member’s feedback. The dealer put a mileage checking instrument but offered me to test drive OUTSIDE the city limits. These dealers are clever …they give all kinds of excuses to drive in city traffic conditions. Anyway, after around 25 - 26 KMs of drive, mostly in outskirts of city with far less traffic, and driving mostly in 4th gear (some 10-15 % of driving in 3rd gear) without much gear shifting …..Results were different. The meter showed 14.9KMs / Ltr which I can only dream in city traffic. The dealer said there is nothing much he can do, as there is no tuning or adjustments that can be done on SX4 and any other ECU based modern day cars which are all pre-tuned to factory setRead More

Can someone suggest if Dragon Kit is available in India or need to import ? And how much it costs ? Also, want to know is there any performance difference between Petrol and diesel versions of Dzire without any of these kits as I see the price difference of 1 lakh plus for Diesel version and have no...t understood clearly why Diesel versions cost more and what do we get paying more to Diesel versions ????Read More
