for some reason my comment of order details etc is not showing on mouthshut, however i answered this on 14th August itself.

Okay Guys i am bringing closure to this thread
Positive act by the SapnaOnline ( sorry guys i cannot go back and fix the ratings ), why because they called up and informed about the situation and conveyed that they do not do such mistake often as well as regretted for the problem in person ( ove...r the phone) & since the book pages were intact and were readable after talking to them i calmed down and i decided to keep the book .
I would give SapnaOnline another chance to serve next time i buy books because they have earned it with their support good customer service.

let me first confirm you i am not illiterate user, when i say refurbished or wear n tear i mean ''the Courier company delivered it in pristine state'' it is only after i opened the item from cover i got to know this.
Another thing i must tell you is do not judge without understandi...ng the context ( unless you are an employee of sapnaonline) , this forum is to convey Appreciation as well problems you face when doing business with a retailer, i am surprised to See your biased and one sided comment.
To add support to my comment, i got a call from sapnaonline from following number : 9108040114489, where the supervisor /public relation officer from spanaonline apologized for the mistake and accepted that sometimes books are kept in warehouse for longer causing aging, no offences to him but this should have been verified at the packaging time itself and not when customer complains about it, if they had prevented themselves from sending aged book to me , they would also have prevented me from writing the comment. They have conveyed me that they will take the bad book back and send me a pristine state copy of the book and they will also bare the charge ( yes this is good, but technically it is them who are on the fault so they must).
When you say Only some e-commerce stores pay the courier charges , i literally am laughing because either you have not bought anything online or you are just trying to neutral the situation by adding some positive comments about this company. I have been buying online since 2002 .. (even before ebay.com had setup ebay.in domain) and i know for the fact that flipkart,infibeam,ebay re-sellers and every other company that does online business pays for the courier when their product is faulty.
So please learn using the forums in unbiased manner , because this is an only tool at our hands as customer where we are suppose to give correct Feedback and help the Prospective buyer to take the right decision.
