hmmmm... friend, i beg to differ with your view...an i20 base version(ERA) is almost the cost of VDI. If you go for Magnum then you could have very well went for ZDI, which has everything from a to Z. I dont want to compare Swift with i20 as after getting to know about these two cars, the swift well... is in leagues of Polo,Punto in dept of handling and built and is the best hatch in terms of fuel efficiency and maintenance... the only dept where it fails is the space , that too in the new sift the rear bench is good and the boot space is the only cause of worry. ...You can/will get to know in long run when you compare your swift with any of the i20s that you know!Read More

its very common that ford's diesel is fuel and performance efficient. But the petrol ones are just for performance. The figo even lacks there. You should have bought the fiesta classic 1.6, atleast you could have got satisfied with handling. If small car then its the Maruti-suzuki K-series engine. ... By the way a small clarification needed from friend smartdrive_abhi, i have never heard that figo petrol is turbo charged and so where is that ''no turbo-lag'' comes in. The linea T-JET and Laura TSI are the cars that i have heard of turbo charged. Its the figo diesel that has almost zero turbo lag....Please correct me if i am wrong...Read More

hi sridhar, EVen i too have heard of VST from some of my colleagues. My team lead has a tata indica of 2006-07 model. He gives the car service at ECR - COncorde service unit. You may even think of doing the same after this shabby customer service from VST

Hi friend, If its only one month then why did you need extended warranty. The initial warranty for a CR4 engine is supposed to be for 2 years or 75000 Kms. You have told that the car is a poor performer...in what ways? What was the mileage you got, what was the top speed you tried? was there any c...latter while driving at normal speeds? Kinldy let us know...Read More

I own a TBTS 2008 model. So far its 34000 Kms done. In Chennai city traffic, When i drive within the 2000 rpm(5th gear it runs at 55-60 Kmph) it gives me 42. When i drive it at more than 2500 rpm(crosses 65 Kmph) it gives me 40. So far 49 is the best mileage i have got driving at 2000 rpm. But the b...est way to drive this bike is to drive between 2000-3000 rpm where you can feel the breeze... Regarding maintanence, i was with RE service till my 26000 Kms mark. Then i chose my local RE mechanic whose dealing with RE alone for 27 years... From then I used to do an Oil service every 4000 Kms... The bill comes around Rs,2000 including Oil change.Read More

Hi Friend EVen dont go by what others say.. take a test drive... during test drive make sure you drive it in all possible ways you would like to.... This product from bajaj was to target people who need economical 150 but its sad to here that the bike vibrates at 60Kmph...

Whatever ARAI ratings given are for IRDE(1.1) and not for Kappa(1.2)If you have bought an IRDE then you can expect that mileage of 15-16 but not with kappa....

I own a TBTS. Its a Nov-2008 model. What do you mean by Power? If you talk about good mileage and pickup... it doesn't happen .... you need to go with some compromise... Bullets are not race horses they are war horses... It will survive for generations but you cannot expect it to do a R15 or pulsar...... If you look for pickup go for apache180/pulsar220/ZMa.. if you look for consistent power and top speeds go for R15, and finally if you look for a long lasting machine which you dont mind feeding when it requires then go for Bullets... All the models of RE have same engine... you say you dont mind money.. go for classic 500... sure all the eyes will be on you!!!!Read More

hey friend, just my suggestion on basis of having a TBTS and once had a pulsar 180. When you plan to buy more than 150 CC, you will have to spend on service. The reason is that the cost of spares used will be surely comparatively higher than the lower CC models. Also fuel efficiency will get a beati...ng. Ideally if you wanted to have good mileage (karizma, Pulsar 220, avenger, Thunderbird all these will sure be giving only an average between 35-40 in city conditions) and better comfort go for honda Unicorn , hero honda hunk, yamaha sz, these may give a mileage of around 50 and comfort will also be there... AMong these my choice will be Unicorn !!!!Read More

just a suggestion, if you keep the rpm within the 2000 mark(i know its very difficult, as it wil reach only 55KMPH in 5th gear for 2000 rpm) you can achieve the 50KM/ltr mark... i do this now-a-days :-)

Hi friend...I go with what sandeepxabraham had stated..If you shell out 11 lakhs and go for corolla diesel/petrol you would have got more than what you expect... shelling out 2.5 lakh less than the cars you compared and expecting the features of same is not right way of comparing

Dear friend Congrats for your TBTS. I own a one which is Nov2008 model. So far i have done 30K Kms. Since you own a new one, Just thought to add few Suggestion for your happy driving/maintenance is that Never exceed the speed during in Run in conditions. Your bike warranty will be till 10K kms, so ...make sure you service it at the intervals given in the manual. All RE bikes undergo Oil breathing. Dont think it as leaking. Leaking is something when the oil drops pour out or drop out which results in decrease in oil engine leading to failure of machine. Oil breathing is a different one. You can get to know about this from your service center mechanic. For every 1000 kms check your chain and lubricate it with oil/grease. If you drench your machine in rain/water try to wipe of the wetness, if not you will have to see the parts rusting. If you do self cleaning, do the lubrication of all the joints with bolts/nuts... This will not cost you a lot in later stages of maintenance. An oil can cost 40 Rupees and a small bottle of castor oil Rs.30, the yellow cloth of Rs.7 and A grease box of Rs.55 should help you to save a lot. Happy and safe driving....Read More

you are in some much haste that you have typed 350 as 3500. A RD 350 and RE 350 owner knows for what he owns these two. They are class apart... why do you compare a racer with a tourer? Finally, as the other friends stated, I could not really believe you really owned one...

Hi I have got my TBTS Nov2008 model. It is so far 30000 Kms done. I have not come across the engine vibrations or oil leaks or fast rusting of the parts.. Vibrations during Runin conditions happen if the acceleration is not maintained within the 55Km/hr that is 1500-2000 rpm in any gear ratio. I co...uld feel the vibrations only at around 3000+ rpm. My vehicle gives a mileage of around 45-49 Kms/litre in chennai when i drive it around 2000 rpm which in fifth gear leads to 55KmHr. If I drive it in heavy city traffic the worst mileage I have got is around 39Km/Ltr. What we should do with machines like RE which has less fibre is do lubricate the parts and the metal surfaces once in a while. Any machine not only the bike if left without care, leads to this... I top up the Engine oil, service the chain and lubricate the other parts every 800- 1000 kms. Lubrication of chain should be done as and when you feel the slag. I have not yet changed my chain sprocket, whereas I changed my chain alone during 22000 kms. I dont want to compare the new TwinSPark with its old one, as to me they are best in their times. I have driven an older one and have felt vibrations even at 60-65 Kmhr which the new one doesnt have. I accept that RE service centers are arrogant and you have to get the work done. But patience is need of the hour to get it done to have a wonderful machine. If you are unhappy with them, find a mechanic like how you have done... I am in chennai at Perungalathur and I now a days give my bike to Mr.BT Kumar who has already been a mechanic in southern motors few years before.... His primary advice is dont leave your machine without care.. Clean it, Lubricate it in neccessary parts and use it appropriately. I was satisfied with him with his service, you can also try your luck if you are in chennai....Read More
