Think of Kolkata and what picture comes to your mind? The Howrah bridge, the victoria and then... its the horrible traffic jam...then all those buses and local trains with people hanging onto....the n number of bandhs called by Mamata Banerjee or CPM or CPM supported someone.....all those "Brigade chalo" slogans........endless political gatherings (where they pay people to attend) and senseless speeches....leave aside all those sweating summer and pollusion enhancing kanta telautos...DISGUSTING! you must be thinking. even I also feel that way at times. But I like the sense of humor that its residents have. Be it in a packed bus or be it in a homely adda.
I want to share one incident. one day one friend of mine went to gariahat to buy a ladies bag. she hardly liked what the salesman was showing in a shop. so, she stopped the salesman saying..."wait. dont show me more varity. I will come back to u after some time". the man replied "please didi.....dont go away by saying I will come back. years ago Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose also said that and he never came back"..........
