Karisma walla is originally from Bengaluru and currently works as an analyst in Gurgaon.
Her family had set up an arranged marriage for her with a new Delhi guy. Supposedly, the guy belonged from a well-to-do family and was not very supportive of Karishma continuing work after marriage.
"He would say things like'family should be a priority and not career'," Walia said.
The final nail in the coffin was when he said that lucy - Karishma's dog - would be a problem and she would have to get rid of her after marriage.
Karishma told him that if that was the case then they would have to cancel their marriage.
"My mom thought he's an excellent match because he's good-looking and well-off," Walia was quoted by BuzzFeed."There was a lot of family pressure, and they still think I did the wrong thing by raising the concern about my dog."
Karishma was quoted as saying that the guy is still trying to get her to reconsider her decision.
