Axis Bank (Formerly known as UTI Bank) was the first private Bank to open a new Branch in Gangtok in 2002. Until then we, perhaps me in particular along with many others, did not have any idea about the concept of Debit/ATM Card. I still remember when I got a Debit cum ATM Card, for the first time in my life, from Axis Bank, I was highly elated. When I entered into the ATM Room to withdraw a sum of Rs. 2000/-, I was quite nervous and did not know what I should have done to withdraw the money. One of the security Guards came into the room and helped me as what I should do to withdraw the money .
Yet another nostalgic moment I spent was at Hotel Tashi Delek (A three Star Hotel) in Gangtok. The purpose of my going there, along with the members my family, was to activate the Debit Card by paying for the lunch we had there and when the Bill came it was not less than what I had anticipated. At that time we were told to activate the Debit Card by doing one or two transaction(s) to be eligible for an insurance cover of upto Rupees two lac against the Card. But now, I don't know whether I am still eligible for the insurance or not. Please do let me know if any friend(s) registred at MS knows(s) about it.
Since then many other Private Banks started operating from Gangtok and now I have learnt many things about their products including their advantages and disadvantages.
Every evening, after my office, I tune in to Zee Business'' Money Guru Show where most of the complaints that I have heard from the customers are related to Credit Cards of many other Banks but I have not heard any complaint so far against Axis Bank Credit Cards. Does that mean Axis Bank is not issuing any Credit Cards to its Customers or the service provided by Axis Bank is so good that not a single Customer is unhappy with its service?
Friends, please suggest me whether I should own an Axis Bank Credit Card or not, provided that any of my friend(s) at MS is (are) having good idea about it and how can I get the same if the Bank is issuing Credit Cards to its customers.
