Please do not refrain from criticizing my songs, Iam open to all comments and criticism- Sniti Mishr

Sniti Mishra always maintains a low profile whenever we interact with her but she is not so reserved either, as many of us believe, when it comes to sharing her internal thoughts and perceptions.

Once I had requested her to sing simple songs for the sake of her fans and well wishers, after she had sung the song, "Tere Bina Zindagi Se Koi", from Andhi, almost impromptu(?), on being asked by the guest of that evening. She candidly replied me, "I have a week point in my singing. I can sing difficult ones but can't sing easier ones.To be very honest with you, easier ones are really difficult to sing. I am trying to work hard on feelings so that I can sing simple songs which are not classical based".

I was very happy to hear that she has been trying so hard to sing easier and non classical songs even after reaching at this level. It reminds me of Gulzar Sahab, who, after receiving the Life Time Achievement Film Fare Award, had commented, "To be honest, I still need a teacher". These are nothing but signs of great artistes, who believe that there is no end to learning when it comes to the field of music and for that matter any field of learning on earth, without showing a sign of even an iota of audacity.

Yet another identity of being a person down to earth was shown by Sniti, when she frankly requested me, "Please don't refrain yourself from criticizing my songs whenever you feel so. I am open to all comments and criticism".

It is very easy to criticize anyone but very difficult to rise to the occasion and live up to the expectations of millions of audience/spectators when a lone performer comes on the stage to give a live performance which is most difficult even for seasoned artistes, let alone these emerging singers. From my perspective, even if any (one) of these emerging talents gives his or her 80% (performance) is more than enough because for them there is no room for even a single retake, once started- no stopping until the end, unlike at the time of recording where they have scopes for multiple retakes and readjustments.
