What is this "Training and Quality Purpose"

Hope you all have heard this that your call will be recorded for "training and quality purpose" before connecting to a customer care representative, whenever we make a call to a customer care.


I can accept the word "quality". but what about training? So this means our call will be used for the purpose of training their employees without our permission. They are giving the excuse that it is informed to the customer and hence they are using so.


But my worry is how can they use it without our "Concent". Is it calling a customer care a crime?


The final excuse from their side is that it is normal thing and all service providers are doing so only. And some customer care people even said that "since it is a toll free call we are doing so".


Now it is high time to react.
