“Stop , oh stop there Pappu, don’t make me run, If only I get hold of you, I shall hit you hard you will never forget?”
Grandma was chasing Pappu still holding the oil dispenser in her hands. She could not put it back when she was provoked by Pappu, while making dosas for breakfast!.
Pappu wanted Pastas in the morning,and Grandma refused to oblige. The result, Pappu snatched the the spatula from her hands and ran away. He first took a whole circle around the dining hall and then he fled outside through the drawing room while hitting the small ornamental wooden table which held the laughing budha, which grandma purchased from Pune.
Buddha could not stand the torture and it fell down breaking into many pieces.
Grandma saw that and her heart broke, while she sped faster to get hold of Pappu, and Lo, she was flat on the ground, yelling loudly.
“oh, my back, my poor back, oh, you demon, I shall get you, I shall get you”
This is just a sample of the events at home in a normal working day.
Pappu was a naughty little boy. He was chubby, with curly hairs, very fair and handsome. But the Teachers of his school liked him very much for he was always punctual and did his homework without arrears , correctly. Little did they doubt that the home work was done by none other than his grandmother so promptly?
In the rolls of the school his name came first as it was Anantha Padmanabhan. His mom and dad called him Pappu, and somehow he did not relish that name . He felt it was outdated. A boy of class V should have a more respectable pet name, he thought!
But his Dad won’t budge. It was his grandpa’s name, Padmanabhan, so he wanted his son to carry the virtues of his late father. Well beggars no choosers, but he felt very sad for why they did not keep Android, or Maccy as his pet name
