The day I saw Avatar

By: tiyarani | Posted Apr 20, 2010 | General | 506 Views

I wasn't too excited to watch the movie Avatar inspite of the rave reviews it got. But friends made plans and I just couldn't refuse.

Before going into the hall, I noticed Everyone getting these dark goggles and I suddenly became wary. Spy glasses for a movie??...........My friend patiently explained to me that the movie was 3D. I nodded my head to show that I understood.........or did I? Anyways I went upto the usher and extended my palm.........."gimme one of those". "Ma'am you need to make a deposit of Rs. 100". "Uh-oh"..........I had already spent my moolah and I barely had enough for the train ticket! I stared helplessly at the usher and then at my friends. Thankfully it was a male usher..........so I got the glasses on the basis of trust ;).

I went inside and fooled around with my friends which made me miss the start. Anyways the lead was talking stuff and I was already bored. I looked sideways and made faces. I asked questions, never giving enough time to answer. But I had to stop soon when I saw the murderous look on their faces. I sank into my seat, doomed to spend the next 2 hours in extreme boredom. But then I started paying attention [the lead was too hot to ignore!].

The special effects were fabulous and I ooh-ed and aah-ed, ignoring the sniggers coming from beside me. Hey is it my fault that I was the only one who was watching it for the first time?
