There is something quite unique about the old people, the old people I am referring to might be your parents or your grandparents who are probably above 70 but young at heart…
They have experience and it gives them an edge over every possible situation…
I have made a few observations about the old gems let me know if you agree…
~ They love talking and would repeat the same incident over and over again… You don’t have a choice and have to listen to them in spite of knowing that incident by heart…
~They keep most of their stuff both important and unimportant beside them, if you dare to change its setting you will be taken to task…
~They always wish to be an important part of the discussion, discussion on both important and unimportant matters…
~They keep questioning about the font of newspaper which according to them is reducing day by day…
~ They are grateful to the ones who do something for them, every a little gesture matters… which might include giving them a glass of water or a breaking news!
- - - I remember when Sania Mirza announced her first engagement I asked my bedridden grandmother whether she will be attending the ceremony to which she heartily replied ‘I will attend her wedding!’
~They love giving recognition to the kids for the little achievements in school… They express this by giving a 10 to 100 rupee note depending on the achievement…
~They are fond of sweets. If you eat any sweet in front of them they won’t spare you without taking their share…!
~ They have their own ways of tackling the naughty kids...
- - -My grandmother used to pay me 2 rupees a day for calling my brother 'Bhayya' and not by his name...
~They wish to learn something about the technical world be it operating a computer or a cell phone…
~They have their favorites and they are blinded by their love... they are partial towards them!
If you have someone around you who fall in this category then you are blessed… We might not agree with them on everything, they might not understand us always but valuing their opinion and their presence is all we should do…
