If I could learn that dark necromancy:
to conjure from base iron purest gold
to dance in crested foam upon the sea
a falling star within five fingers hold --
Then could I cast the spell o'er my bright love
Enraptured, captured, yet set free to fall
upon his willing prey: a falcon on a dove.
But I have spent my youth, my life and all
the power of my imagination to wrest
the secrets from these dusty tomes. And those
Secrets have I learned: Love and Laughter are the best
and richest Arts of Life. Yet I chose
To dream transfixed in lonely scholar's chamber
of obsidian turned to sunlight caught in amber.
