Tata unveils the Zest and Bolt!

By: Lokesh_s | Posted Feb 04, 2014 | General | 4483 Views

Tata Motor has unveiled two new cars - The Sedan Zest and the premium hatchback Bolt. The cars will be launched after the Auto Expo 2014. It will subsequently be launched in many other countries.

This is seen as a step after Tata's market share in the passenger vehicles segment in India dropped by 37 percent last year. The steepest drop in the last two years. But can this revive Tata's fortunes? Only time will tell.

The cars - a compact sedan'Zest' and a hatchback'Bolt' - will be powered by the company's new Revotron engine series and both will be based on the company's X1 platform. Zest would be available in both diesel and petrol variants while the Bolt will come only with Petrol. Both will be equipped with the EPAS(Electronic Power Assisted System). The Zest will come with a 5 Speed Automated manual transmission and will have a maximum power output of 90 Bhp with 200 Nm of torque.

High fuel costs and growing interest rates has resulted in the dampening of Automotive sector. The design of the new cars look fresh. At least better than what the Tata has dished out so far.
