Stoney eyes!
I am not talking about the eyes of a centenarian who has seen ages and nothing seems to excite him. They are unable to find anything new, everything is mundane. Yet their eyes are lively. They are satisfied. So leave them for reminiscing.
The twenty somethings have their eyes fixed on the cell phones whether they are travelling or talking. They don’t remember the roads of their city, except the way to their office. They need GPS to go elsewhere. A groundless generation. A visionless generation. Lost! A useless lot! Sheer waste of manpower. Stoney from skin to the bones.
The thirty somethings spend their time on the wretched computer screens, that suck each and every tear drop out of their eyes. This particular category is literally stoney eyed. ‘Office’>‘Eat’>‘if possible sleep’>‘Office again’. Classic monotonous mid life of the middle class. Back in the 90s, though unproductive but still the couch potatoes were a content lot.
Some eyes are only stoney. Stone! They are the eyes of many.Very many people. Their eyes remain fixed to the ground if they walk, they are fixed to the glass if they ride a vehicle. These eyes have nothing which could be explained! These are void of any emotion. They are just like another organ in the body. Like other limbs of the body, these do their job. They are void of dreams. These are the kind of eyes which are the most abundantly found, Of course! after the cell phone users. The people who own these eyes are not happy, actually they are never happy, but actually they don’t have anything to be sad either. Many times I have seen the underprivileged enjoying a hearty laugh with a twinkle in their eyes. But these stoney eyed commoners are manufactured unfortunates. They have fallen prey to this manufactured ecosystem.
These stoney eyes can see but cannot sense.
They are on the trail of a rat race.
