Sachin Tendulkar: Not my hero

Hey, don't go by subject, hear me out first. I was also among the millions glued to TV during his last match and waited for his thanks speech. And it was worth the wait, very simple, humble and emotional. SRT was never my favorite( I am a jammy fan), but I respected him for his contribution. When I got to know that his last match was in Mumbai, I did try to buy a ticket(not my best effort) but failed and ended up watching at home. I failed to become part of a historical event, very difficult for any other cricketer to achieve this. I feel Virart might be able to come near to this benchmark if not break it. SRT's speech was very touching and I have even more respect for him. How can we forget crowd at Wankhade which booed all politicians and shouted at top of their voice for SRT. Mumbai I love you for this. Everything was fine till here but Bharat Ratna changed everything. SRT is first sportsmen in India to receive this and first professional - outside the definition for Bharat Ratna. How does it matter? Some people are unhappy and want to know why SRT. My answer to all those fellow Indians "do you know any one else in your whole life who has consistently performed in his/her field without getting into any controversies. We don't have count of matches he has won for us, youngsters he has inspired and who knows he is helping how many to overcome in life. He is a legend and let him live with peace and happiness. No doubt he is very strong and does not show his emotions but why is he being dragged into this controversy. Please leave him alone! However SRT is still not my hero. Jammy I still like you more.
