ANKUR LUDHIANVI PUBLICATION

2014, What a year! From climbing up of sensex to rise and fall of inflation; from IPL controversy to launch of various leagues like Kabaddi, Football and Lawn Tennis: from floods in Kashmir to cyclone in Viazag, from affairs of cricketers and bolywood babes to crimes of Godmen. There is endless list of such events which rocked our nation at the same time it is impossible to discuss all of them at once. I also had this dilemma, when I decided to write down list of 10 important persons/milestones/events which I feel are highlights for this year. I believe this SUPER 10(yipee I have decided name for this list as well) have affected me, my family our social lives and our country in some way. Few among this SUPER 10 will also become part of our history and will stand as landmarks. Without creating any more hype I proudly share my SUPER 10 for 2014 with you.

SUPER 1: Pradhan Sewak: Sh Narendra Modi:

Without any doubt, Mr Modi is going to top my SUPER 10 list for coming into power after winning longest election in history of India, it was the largest ever election in the world which also witnessed highest ever turnout in the history of Indian elections. He formed a single party majority government after 30 years. There are lots of other facts and figures you may check Wikipedia for the same as above information has also been taken from there. Other than winning election he has won heart of millions of Indians and is responsible for a positive outlook of world towards India. He is an effective administrator, impressive speaker and above all politician who believes in progress . Government is going to complete a year soon and I am eagerly waiting for the report card(it has to be an excellent result).

SUPER 2: Arvind Kejriwal:

I believe(and this is my belief) that February 14, 2014 - the day Mr Kejriwal decided to resign as Chief Minister of Delhi, it bought 180 degree( if not 360 degree) change in political scenario of our country. Before writing what I want to write, I would like you to brainstorm, what would have happened if he continued? I will help you in deciding a reply.

-He was chosen as CM after defeating BJP and Congress in Delhi.

-Not only Delhi wale but people across India loved him and respected him.

-Many were ready to vote for him in Lok Sabha

-He was the only person who could have stood against MODI wave.

I believe if he would have continued as CM of Delhi and not resigned, BJP would have surely won lesser seats( I can be wrong), with Congress not favorites among people Kejriwal was only best option with people. For me his resignation to Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on Feb 14, 2014 worked as a valentine gift for BJP. Hence he is my SUPER 2.

SUPER 3: Mars Orbiter Mission(Mangalayaan)

India's The Mars Orbiter Mission(MOM), informally known as'Mangalayaan' also the fastest, cheapest and one of the most intricate Mars missions entered Mars orbit on 24 September 2014. It was launched into Earth orbit on 5 November 2013 by the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO). India is the first country to enter Mars orbit in first attempt. It was completed at a record cost of$74 million. What a achievement ISRO! You surely deserve to be SUPER 3.

SUPER 4: Bollywood Bala's

I feel Bollywood is a dynamic industry with even more dynamic personalities like actors, directors, music directors and actresses. Type of movies made now days bring lot of applauds for actors and music directors but actresses end up as show piece. However, this year has been exceptionally different with QUEEN, BOBBY JASSOS, MARRY KOM, MARDAANI, KHOOBSURAT AND HIGHWAY. Though these movies have not garnered 100 Crores, but entertainment quotation for these movies is much higher than 100 Crore club movies. Queen is my favorite movie of the year, Rani in Mardaani is comparable to Aamir in Sarfarosh and so on. This for sure had been year of BOLYWOOD DIVA's so they are my SUPER 4.

SUPER 5: Kailash Satyarthi

Kailash Satyarthi, founder of Bachpan Bachao Andolan an NGO which saves children from slavery and forced labor, won the Nobel Peace Prize, which he shared with Malala Yousafzai. He acted to protect the rights of more than 83,000 children from 144 countries. Due to his efforts that International Labour Organization has adopted Convention No. 182, which is right now the guiding principle for all Governments against child labor and child exploitation.

SUPER 6: Ecommerce

We are living in a world which is ruled by internet, it has become part of our lives from last few years and excessive does has led to obsession like facebook, twitter and so many other apps and services. Never in my life I had thought( I am not very old) that a 15 years old kid of one of my elder brothers in Ludhiana will order his bathroom sleepers from ecom site. Nothing wrong with that! And the way he explained me the benefits of using such sites - product quality, discounted pricing and options available. I was so impressed and I really felt that Ecom actually benefits end user. I have also become an active user(at least I compare rates with Ecom sites before taking any product and 60% to 70% of times I end up buying through them. All this awareness among customers and penetration in tier 2 or tier 3 cities has been possible because of aggressive marketing and fierce competition between Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal and other. This year will go down in history as year of ECOMERRCE.

SUPER 7: SPORTS MINUS CRICKET

India is all about cricket, every class 3 student will know about Indian cricket players in a country where cricket is a religion. It's my 2nd religion as well. However this year it was other sports which made headlines and also made us proud.

• Saina Nehwal, Kidambi Srikanth winning China Open,

• Sindhu for defending her women's singles title at Macau Open.

• Sania Mirza for winning US Open mixed doubles, mixed doubles gold in the Asian Games and WTA Tour Finals 2014

• Yogeshwar Dutt for bringing Gold in Wrestling in Asian Games after 28 years.

• Marry Kom's gold in Asian Games, Indian men and women kabaddi team for winning world cup and list goes on.

SUPER 8: Kapil Sharma

Kapil Sharma and Comedy Nights with Kapil - I will not waste any time in writing anything about undisputed king of Comedy. He has moved from 93 to 33rd position in Forbes India Celebrity list.

SUPER 9: SELFIE

Though it exists from so many years, we Indians caught up with this few years back and 2014 was The Selfie year for Indians. From Mr Modi to cricketers to film stars to my neighbors 5 year old son, all have become SELFIBEINGS. Go click your selfie for 2015 today!

SUPER 10: WE THE INDIANS

I don’t care what other countries feel about us, but I have that feeling of proud for what we are and I am optimistic for what we will be in future. All of us are not corrupt, narrow minded, unethical and here to make quick buck but many among us are brave, intelligent, honest and broad minded human beings. We fight for our religion but we all can die for our country, we all are separated by our cultures but we are together in tough times. We are among few countries in world that still have joint families and we are among few countries where banks have never collapsed, we still live our lives on our earnings and our economy has survived worst of the global crisis. WE have been an important factor in growth of India and WE have to keep contributing. JAI HIND, JAI JAWAN, JAI KISAAN & JAI VIGYAAN.
