In Gujarat, a PIL has been filed against the famous augmented reality game Pokemon Go for hurting the religious sentiments by showing eggs in places of worship.

"People playing the game get their points in the form of eggs which generally appear in the places of worship of different religious groups. To find eggs in temples of Hindus and Jains is blasphemous, and therefore my client has sought a ban on the game from the country," financial express quoted the petitioner's lawyer Nachiket Dave said.

The petitioner pointed out that eggs are considered as non-vegetarian food and claimed the act of showing them in temples as profane.

The respondents of the petition are San Francisco-based developer of the game, Niantic, Inc., and Central and state governments.

This incident highlights the need for a much needed committee to overlook the concerns of people over mobile applications which hurt the religious sentiments of the various communities.
