Chennai city has been infamous for its stringent school and college rules, be it strict dress codes or opposite sex sitting together or limiting the access to technology. Add one more to the long list of regulations, a school in Chennai has banned Facebook and other social networkign sites for students.
Srimathi Sundaravalli Memorial School does not allow its students to use Facebook or Twitter. The school has been distributing declaration forms for the parents to sign and tick the two boxes that say: Does not hold an account in any of the social media sites; and Will not open account in any of the social media sites till he/she leaves the school.
A disgruntled parent took to Twitter to share an image of the declaration form.
