Rizwan Khan (Shahrukh Khan) suffers from Aspergers Syndrome. Nevermind the definition. Suffice it to say that its a bigger disease than AB's Progeria and AK's Dyslexia ! So this movie is bigger & better than both Paa & TJP. Throughout the movie, SRK is shown battling mental disorder and you can be seen battling mental disintegration. The entire first half is dominated by SRK’s over-acting and the second half by the audience over-reacting !!
If Saif married Kareena in Kurbaan, SRK marries a divorcee Kajol in MNIK, thus proving that he has a bigger heart than Saif. One has to applaud the message the movie tries to convey loud and clear. ‘We should not torture innocent viewers in the name of ‘terrorism’ or religion’.
Although it’s a GayJo film, it’s drastically different from his previous works like Kurbaan, etc. In Kurbaan you had Saifeena, here you have KajRukh. In Kurbaan, Saif had a beard, here Shahrukh has Asperger. Even the venue & clothes are different this time.
SRK character isnt normal (you'd should have realised by now that he excels only in abnormal characters). He's sharper than Darsheel & more innocent than Auro. How I wish all of us were like him. What an interesting world that would make.
Allah hi Rahem , Rang De and My Name Is Khan are the best songs of the lot (the lot itself being pathetic..). The background score is fabulous too! Ravi K Chandran’s cinematography is visual treat (only for him). Some of the scenes are breathtaking (you need to breath quite often to reassure yourself that you are alive).
Take a bow to the Make-up artists who have made SRK look like elder brother to Darsheel and Kajol fairer than Michael Jackson (recent one of course)
The film is the best of the best. It has all the vital elements of Fanaa, New York & Kurbaan to make it an even biggerBlockbusted. Even the posters are drawn from landmark movies. In MNIK posters, SRK has donned the stars and stripes better than Tom Cruise in Born On the Fourth Of July. He thought the makers of Born On The 4th... would sue leading to bigger controversy/viewership in the US but apparently Cruise & the herd havent heard about it just yet. Similarly the Silhouette of the soldier is better than what they have shown on Hamburger Hill.
Trivia
(1) Do you know that MNIK's 1st week collections have already exceeded SRK's earlier blockbusteds like Asoka, Veer Zara, Om Shanti Om & Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. It has even overtaken Ghajini and is next only to his forthcoming movie.
(2) Not many know that SRK treats AK like his kid Bro. The release was MNIK was stalled to prevent 3 Idiots from flopping!
There are only two types of SRK movies, One is bad, another is intolerably bad is the scuttle message of the movie. In short, My Name Is Khan. I'm not a terrorist. I am horrible.
